Genes 6th Gear May 26, 2007 Share May 26, 2007 Hi guys. Recently heard a sharp crack sound while driving. Didnt see any obvious damage so I just continued driving. Today, just as I was about to start the car, I noticed that was a crack of about 10cm in length at the base of the windscreen. Could feel the distinct crack on the outside of the windscreen. Question. If claim insurance(AIG) will affect NCD? How much would it be to change the whole thing? A bit bo hua tho coz the car is due to be traded in for a new one in about 2 months. If this is the case, it there any possibility to repair it with maybe epoxy filler or is there anyone to recommend that can repair a crack? Thanks in advance for all advice. ↡ Advertisement

Spidercool 1st Gear May 27, 2007 Share May 27, 2007 think the 10cm long crack cannot be in-situ repair, suggest you to call Mr.Ng from eglass to check.http://eglass.bravehost.com One thing abt replacing the windscreen is that you've to reinstall the solar film again if you already have 1. Helloworld88 2nd Gear May 27, 2007 Share May 27, 2007 I had mine replaced for 100bucks (before GST), claim from AIG, no NCD affected. Since you are going to change car, there is no need to re-apply the solar film. Bottom line, do it ASAP before trade in, if not, you are the next "carrot-head" victim, hahhaha... It caught me off guard and was kinda distracted after that.

Maybe its wise to book an appointment with Mr Ng and check it out the price for repairing the crack. I did mine with him after considering the hassel to change the whole windscreen, cus need to leave you car at the work shop for a day and need to fork out cash to replace solar film. Ng did a very good job for my windscreen in less than 30mins. Very pro.
