Ommph Clutched May 31, 2007 Share May 31, 2007 Hi All, I was reading thru another forum and this term, Maxidot, was being discussed frequently. It seem that the Maxidot is referring to the display in OCty A5 and it can be used to change the display and program. Did any one here know about this and does our Singapore A5 comes with it? If yes, did anyone tried changing the display info? ↡ Advertisement
Skodasales Neutral Newbie June 1, 2007 Share June 1, 2007 Maxidot is an enhanced feature of the display that can be programmed to display certain messages such as "Fasten your seatbelt" , etc... It can also be used to display audio tracks if fitted with a factory headunit. I checked the cars in the showroom, I don't think they have this function. Koolaba 1st Gear June 1, 2007 Share June 1, 2007 Unfortunately, all A5 Octavias (MPI and vRS) sold in Singapore are specified with the cheaper 7-segment cum dot-matrix display (in the attached picture). The Maxi-dot display looks like this. http://www.autocentrala.cz/img/maxidot.jpg

Fluffy Clutched June 2, 2007 Share June 2, 2007 bro, you guys gotta price the cars more competitively and have better equipment lah, just look at how Opel manages to sell so many Astras, not that their cars are better ........ same goes for Renault, the meganes aren't better but they sell quite a number of them and they are competitively priced and very well equiped ! already all the interiors of the Skodas are dark grey all over with no option of a ligher color interior, then the specs are pathetic for the price....... when was the last time CA did a road show at all? i remember AE juz did a road show at Vivocity juz recently and at least people could get a taste what Opel offers. Saab had theirs a few months ago at the same venue. Oh, and good customer service and product knowledge goes a long way, bro. cheers!
Skodasales Neutral Newbie June 2, 2007 Share June 2, 2007 Ok bro, I appreciate the inputs. We will of course look into the matter but prices is also dependent on many variables that we may or may not know. In addition, it does not mean that if we price the cars lowly, the sales will soar tremendously. This is afterall a niche car that is appreciated by a selected group of people. Our clientele, are not people who will decide between a jap car and a Skoda, we(me, having owned a Skoda myself for 2 years) appreciate the car. Nevertheless, we will try to address this. As for providing more options to customers, we are trying to arrange on the side of PDI. It is not entirely no option, we will try to expand our available options. As for A&P activities, there are promotional activities going on and I will make known these activities in this forum as the time approaches. First one being a mini roadshow at the Laguna Country Club this coming Sat and Sun (9/6 - 10/6). Interested bros, please feel free to see us there. As for good customer service, on our side we will definitely put in our best. And for product knowledge, we are all in stages of learning, as I am in this forum. In any case, lioke i said, I do appreciate the comments and suggestions. Cheers.
Mel4fun Neutral Newbie June 2, 2007 Share June 2, 2007 Hi to our mate from Skoda Agent, I am really disturb when you mention "This is afterall a niche car ......". The reason why you percieved as "niche" may be :- - problably the agent haven't done enough to bring awareness to the mass market. - the agent do not have the sales figure to back up the claim - agent "assumed" that their product is "special". Please take a look in Europe sales ...... mass market sales figure - having the same parts bin from the VAG group, doesn't mean that it is "niche" Nothing against the product, and I think it is fantastic that we are a least seeing the A5 Octy after 2 years it launch.....but please be realistic. Pricing high and selling low doesn't make the product "niche" ..... simply CMI ! And please don't mention anything about the "-" image on the brand, we have enough VAG lovers here to justify the built and beauty of the car. Keep it up Bro ..... ! ↡ Advertisement
