Veximan Clutched June 9, 2007 Share June 9, 2007 Hey Bros, i was with a pte instructor and iafter failing twice, i have decided to change to school..(maybe his teaching methods doesn't suit me)..must i go through all the training again or will they accelerate the training of the modules for me and allow me to take my practical test earlier? ↡ Advertisement
Ultramega 1st Gear June 9, 2007 Share June 9, 2007 my guess is they won't accelerate for you cos that will eat into their profits.
Pencapchew Neutral Newbie June 9, 2007 Share June 9, 2007 Nope, they will judge based on your current driving capabilities. The better you are, its possible to shorten then number of practicals. In average, a student who learns in school takes at least 24-29 nos of practicals. For me, i took only 10 and went for my tp test. Good luck and may your route to getting your license is a breeze... Hiphiphoray 6th Gear June 9, 2007 Share June 9, 2007 Since u oredi know ur stuff, why dont u get a private instructor ? Skip the compulsory practicals. After i fail my first attempt, i didnt even bothered to go for any more practice. Just book the next test date and go. Driving tests is always about heng sway. I failed when i was very sure i will pass. I pass when im very sure i would fail.....
Veximan Clutched June 10, 2007 Author Share June 10, 2007 I feel that my basics still sucks...and was thinking about re learning everything...my pte instructor was a nice guy, but he didnt really correct my mistakes and he just say "Do sth about it." and i realise some of the things he taught me contradict with wad the testers say...and when i reflect this to him, he will give me a black face..and insist that he was correct.. Actually i dun mind they dun accelerate my training..but i really want to get my license...
Furrynadz 5th Gear June 10, 2007 Share June 10, 2007 ditch ur instructor and go sch dunno why so many still think private instructors teach everything right instructor in sch = job instructor pte = ricebowl use blain think a bit

W2K_83 1st Gear June 10, 2007 Share June 10, 2007 I was in the same situation as you 5 yrs ago, I switched to school, took an 8-lessons accelerated course and passed the TP test. And the school takes the credit of a first time pass
Tunge 1st Gear June 10, 2007 Share June 10, 2007 Which area did u fail in... the tester should have told u what area u need improvment. issit ur instructor didn't teach u or u nervous. for me i took private took my 3 tries to pass. my circuit always weakest cos very ex to book circuit i only do a few times b4 TP. My road is ok... maybe it's just the tester niao or u too nervous that's why fail. jai you!
Tunge 1st Gear June 10, 2007 Share June 10, 2007 instructor in sch = job instructor pte = ricebowl don't get what u r driving at.... job = ricebowl = job = ricebowl. I feel that both pte and sch instructor can do a good job teaching u... it's just that u'll be taking less risk with school cos they know how what the testers are exactly looking out for, and u are put to compulsory stages so u r forced to learn till u r good enough to take TP. but for pte, some r crap some are good, so u take a risk here when kena lousy one. if got money... go for school, if like me try to save money take private. Peppermint Neutral Newbie June 10, 2007 Share June 10, 2007 ditch ur instructor and go sch dunno why so many still think private instructors teach everything right instructor in sch = job instructor pte = ricebowl use blain think a bit Its not true dat pte instructors aren't good at coaching. I tink, its a matter of luck, see if u manage to find a good one. My pte instructor has plenty of students who are referred by sch instructors. A fren of mine who learnt at sch failed 3 times & was recommended to look for my pte instructor by the tester himself Its juz heng sway.

Actually i dun mind they dun accelerate my training..but i really want to get my license... Bro, My humble take. If you feel that "you still suck" and u've already tried Pte and it isn't working out for you. Then mabbe like what the bros have said here, go sch then at the same time see if can accelerate, in accordance to your proficiency. Then u still learn and mabbe can cut short waiting time also as i hear that u usually can get earlier test dates from Sch than Ptes too. IMHO, from my experiences, i've taken quite abit of tests. (Class 2b to 5) Other than the obvious requisite of a certain level of skill, both road and vehicular required, A HHUUGGEE portion goes to luck. Eg. Tester (esp). Road Condition. Chins up bro. U'll be fine :)
Toyo 1st Gear June 10, 2007 Share June 10, 2007 Pte instructor is still cheaper overall even if u have to sit for a test 5 times to pass.
Cristy Neutral Newbie June 10, 2007 Share June 10, 2007 if got money... go for school, if like me try to save money take private. ____________________________________ erm issue is ... sometimes u take pte and keep on fail fail fail(touch wood la) then in the end the $$ spent also same as school and then waste time some more .... i guess its very much on personal take n preference la ... for my case, I wasnt rich, but i hate the idea of wasting time and money if i keep on failing ... so i enrolled into school and got the silver gp(supposed 2nd best gp) of instructor

Porker Turbocharged June 10, 2007 Share June 10, 2007 Private instructors are less inclined to correct your mistakes (read: not all) as they hope to get more lessons from the students. More lessons = more $$$ ↡ Advertisement
