1 star better than no star!

You think china people want to buy their own brand?

They know china products can never make it that is why they buy imported stuff.

Went through a few video, all China-made cars fail terribly. Even the supposedly tough SUV failed so miserably that the dummy was squashed up so badly against the steering wheel/dashboard that both the legs broke off!

Amazingly lousy quality! As long as the tin can can move is considered a car, no considerations whatsoever about safety!

i guess those 15 year old cars(EG,AE100) undergo crash test will also like tat bah...

but that car is a "new" model offered by Chery that's on sale now. So don't compare it with 15yo standards.

I think when they copy, they did not copy complete.

Best to wait for their second generations of cars....I am sure they will learn from the crash test failure very quickly.

Your are right. The China-made cars will improve in a few years time just like the Korean-made cars. I remember how the Hyundai Pony was a laughing stock when it was first introduced here but look at the present Hyundai cars. They are very close to the Jap-made cars in terms of quality and design, imo. I won't be surprised if they soon overtake the Japs.......

The market now and during the time when Hyundai enter is quite different. Safety and technology is not as demanding as it is now. Chinese car makers have a steeper hill to climb. Safety rating, fuel economy and customer's expectation is much higher. I am sure that they may catch up one day. But at the meantime, it is a tall order for Chinese car to penetrate the international market. IMO, this biggest selling point is the price at the moment. The environmental and safety requirements of the EU market will probably prevent it from being sold there.
