Elixir 1st Gear August 12, 2007 Share August 12, 2007 Another question, I intend to try for bidding COE on my own through ATM. I heard and read most local sellers, especially those popular brands will kind of reject the sale if they heard u had successfull bid on your own, will have to go for maybe Citroen or something. Plus, whats the true advantage of bidding on my own? Ultimately, we want to get COE as low as possible, thats all, can always wait to see right. Any comments? Thanks a lot. ↡ Advertisement

Boxster 2nd Gear August 12, 2007 Share August 12, 2007 (edited) Depends what car you want to buy. Eg last time I bidded mine and went round look 4 car. Go BM sure lugi if got own COE than those who buy as a package. Go as some PI some willing to give good price so buy PI one So I think check it out 1st as some "cold doors" ADs can offer quite good Car price without COE Edited August 12, 2007 by Boxster
Ahyoo2002 2nd Gear August 12, 2007 Share August 12, 2007 To bid on your own, you must have at least $10k deposit in your bank account. Meaning you can bid said $5k but then the bank still deduct $10k from your account. Some AD may not willing to sell you, but then it always depend on which model you want to buy. I had friend who bought from KM with their own COE. So for benefit, the only point I can think of is you have full control on how much COE you want to pay. Also, with COE secured, even if you buy from PI, one less execuse for them to delay the delivery.
Elixir 1st Gear August 13, 2007 Author Share August 13, 2007 what if the bid not successful? does it mean the $10k is bounced back to my bank account? and I have to bid again the next round OR i can choose to leave the money there and just change my bid amount? WHy do some lucky ones can get $1 COE?
Weichien Clutched August 13, 2007 Share August 13, 2007 what is the advantage of high coe and low?? like last time car so ex. nw cheap ( considered)
Ahyoo2002 2nd Gear August 13, 2007 Share August 13, 2007 The money will bounce back. Mid-way along the bidding exercise, you can revise your bid, but everytime you revise your bid, you need to pay the admin fee of $2. You can get more detail here: http://www.onemotoring.com.sg/publish/onem...le/bid_coe.html Technically speaking, no one can get $1 COE unless the number of bids received are lower than the quota, which is unlikely to happen now. Elixir 1st Gear August 13, 2007 Author Share August 13, 2007 I can't afford Lexus lah. What models are you selling? I still have about 10 mths to go, which I think I should start thinking about it. Thanks. my company is still willing to do business with you even though you have secure a COE. do contact me if you are keen.
Falc 3rd Gear August 13, 2007 Share August 13, 2007 Most AD will sell u at a higher price if without COE, that is higher than selling price minus COE value. But if u go for PI, more PIs are willing to sell u without COE without much of the aforementioned penalty.

Yes ... you may .... then just get the car you want. But if you go to those ADs .... they'll most likely not entertain you. So don't bid for your own COE unless you are getting car from PI ... ↡ Advertisement
