Remove sticky residue left by tape

Hi, anyone knows what I can use to get rid of those sticky residue left by double sided tape on the dashboard plastic panel without affecting the paint or scratching it? Thanks!

There is such a thing as tape adhesive remover, about $7 a bottle

remember it is plastic.. dun use solvent or it will discolor ur plastic.

 

want slow slow method is buy 2" wide masking tape, strip out the front to 1ft long, tape over, press down and peel off like hair remover style, then further unroll and use new ones.

 

slow but confirmed steady one.

I always use alcohol for such purpose.. Fast and easy.. But whether will discolour or not.. Aiya, dun care la.. Hahaha..

Spray some sah boon chui on it and let it soak for a while. Wipe it off with a wet cloth.

 

Repeat the steps several times to get rid of it all.

 

I got the idea when I observe ppl doing window tinting. Why spray mama lemon on the tinted windows to remove the tinted film??

 

Use mama lemon(dish washing detergent+water) lah dun cost much compared to what other ppl suggested here.

Tinted film on windows doesn't use any gluem but thanks for the tips because i was quoted additional $300 for removing those.

can use papa lemon instead? mama lemon will strip car wax leh

I use the same method to remove adhesive stains too. Work very well, I even bought tinted film to do my room's window.

Use your fav car shampoo add some water lor. Any soapy water will do.

take ur wife nail polish remover solution + some cotton wool to clean it off....

I used WD40 to remove the tape residue from my gauges stand....
