Brake pad recommendation

what is your car mileage now and any idea when was the last brake pad change?

it may be time for a change if u have not done any brake pad changes.

also, stock brake pads on most japanese and korean (or most asian) vehicles do not feel responsive as some aftermarket brands.

changing brake pads alone no use.

 

better do together:

upsize rotors and slotted

upsize calipers

change steel brake hose

change brake pad

quite a number of diff brands of brake pads avail..

take note, each have for their specific purposes..

 

'normal'

street'

track

 

they have diff working temperature ranges.. so if u fix track-use brake pads but only drive in the streets. its actually a safety hazard to urself. becos these pads cant reach the high temp for it to work effectively.

 

take a look at EBC pads.. they have a few ranges. marketed as green, red, yellow stuff.

 

have a trusted/qualified mech take a look at ur overall braking system. maybe u need to re-bleed the system. top up fluid. service the brake pistons. etc2..

Search out Akebono ProAct Ceramic. It's probably better than many of those pads available locally. Seems hard to find anything adverse about this pad type.

get a ceramic brake pad, brake dust will be much lesser.. any workshop would know how to change brake pad... its so easy u can DIY.. charges shouldnt exceed $25 for brake pad changes on 2 front pads.

 

i am using ICER brakepad.. i wouldnt recommend it... alots of brake dust. i am not those who tap brakes frequently but my rims turn grey after less than 1 week after washing car. after 2 weeks, silver rims looks like copper rims.

My 3G city still on stock brake pad after 74K mileage and i feel the braking is still sufficient for me. However u may want to change to aftermarkets performance brake pad such as Ferodo, mintex etc. i had friend changing to mintex red and told me very good so i'm thinking of changing too after my brake pad worn out

where you find EBC in Sg? i can't seem to find a sparepart shops that carry it.

go to BMS in AMK autopoint, they do Hondas there. get TRW or ICON, good pads.
