i think he was in a jam. how else can the TP go in-between them?

if the traffic flow was normal, doing a lane change like that (45 deg slant) would probably be deemed as changing lane without due care. perhaps?[confused]

sometimes it could be because the driver on the left was extremely fickle-minded, lane-changing in and out, left to right for perhaps a few junctions already.

if i were on the middle lane i would get quite dulan and probably speed up + horn. happened to me before. just that it was a purple pick-up.

[laugh] Agree. Whenever there is a gap, they will try to squeeze in. But not all drivers do that.

Worst types are those who forcefully cut in front of U and road hog all the way, then when U try to overtake on the left, they speed up. [lipsrsealed] No point wasting petrol on them. :p

understand ur pt of view.don no why ppl here is not gracious enuh 2 give way.take a drive in australia n u know wat i meant.

[nod] A few years ago I had just picked up my rental car from Perth airport, and was driving to the city in the left lane. I realised the left lane ended some distance ahead , have to merge with the middle lane, so I put on my indicator light and slowed down (Singaporean habit, expecting no one to give way to me [:p] ).

I could see a car in the middle lane behind me, and slowed down, waiting for him/her to pass me so that I can change lanes, but after a few seconds, he/she still had not passed me [confused] I had slowed down to almost a crawl, then I realised the driver had also slowed down to give way to me, until he/ she was also at a crawl. [laugh] So embarassing.

I understood from your post that after the traffic light turned green, all cars moves forward which means changing all accelerating, then left lane car signal but did not manage to filter out. Centre lane car horn to caution the left not to filter out becuase he is to close for comfort. To me the reason why the middle car lags behind a bit because he has to slow down a bit to be careful.

The middle lane shouldn't slow down and give way to left lane car after the traffic lights else the traffic flow would not be smooth, and being the filtering car, he should have noticed it way before hand and stop behind hazard if he did not managed to change lane earlier and wait for his turn to come out or when traffic is slower and safe to do so.

1. traffic was such that from traffic light cannot see that there was blocking vehicle, as other cars in front start to filter out then you see it, so give benefit of doubt to the left lane driver.

2. left lane car was already in front when he signal, he must have seen the block in front.

3. center lane car sped up after he signalled, he horn not out of caution but incessantly. rapid and pulsating horning.

4. center lane car slow down initially or not i don't know, but why speed up suddenly after left lane car signal? too close for comfort? he sped up what. i can hear the engine from his car roaring.

5. correct, middle lane no reason to slow down to give way to left after traffic lights. as for the rest, refer to point 1.

Take it with grace mah. Whatever, big car, small car, expensive, cheap, fast, slow, Tua leng kong, punty, or motorbike. Sometimes there is no chance to filter out/in, just LL because not skillful enough, please don't think other vehicles block on purpose.

I stop well behind for bus to filter out from bus stop when traffic is stationery in front. So when not necessarily I don't stop to let the bus filter out even he is's much bigger and been waiting, but will slow down for safety. [:)]

It's quite sad that people are cursing others for not being graceful, or not having a gracious environment.

A gracious society starts from within oneself. One cannot expects others to be gracious in order to be influenced.

1. If cars are at cruising speed, one has to be much faster for safe filtering in. Otherwise, wait for his correct chance. If he is fast enough not to cause danger, just filter in. It seems to me that left lane driver is not even fast enough to notice the hazard ahead, then how to filter in easily after slowed down considerably? If there is a gap and still cannot filter in, means he is not confident enough, then better wait for a bigger gap when others really brake so hard to let him in.

2. Pls refer to my point.1. Btw when one signal left or right, is not to tell others to slow down, is to let others know of filtering. Let's presume he is inexperienced, then he should signal well in advance.

3. Maybe he eats into middle lane being other car in the blind spot.

4. If you don't know why, then who should know? [:)]
