instead of trying to make roads better, it seems to me they are only trying to make it worst by "repairing" seemingly nothing wrong roads and cutting trees at peak hours in order to make the jam worse

Expected la, these 2 yrs traffic getting from bad to worse compare to last time. However i feel that govt wanna push the drivers to take public transport next time. Recently read from paper, govt wanna push ppl to take public transport, maybe this is juz a way in order to achieve that.

don flame mi y cant they juz install gantry at all entrance and exit of expressway then cant choose liao loh and make it whole day plus make it abit expensive. hmm like that i could c less ppl owning car. i pay to drive a congestion free rd also shiok. unless it backfired

 

Ppl will still own until the point they drive den they will feel the pinch. I feel govt should go back to last time era, a car cost a bomb and decrease the no. of yrs of loan. Problem solve. Ppl will not plunge into it and get hurt as its not affordable.

I can understand all your feelings, but what is the use of a congested road without ERP? Would you like spend an hour or 2 in a traffic jam like in Bangkok or Jakarta? Have you considered the opportunity costs & precious time lost?

 

What is 50 cents to a dollar in ERP charges for someone who has paid over S$100,000 for his car? If one wants to grumble about such trival matters, might be better off taking public transport in this case. Such policies are for your own good.

 

Seriously, motorists will enjoy more savings with the ERP gantries' extended operational hours.

 

Why?

 

Less traffic jam, smoother traffic flow, faster travelling speed = Car can go on higher gear and less petrol consumed.

 

For me, I fully support LTA's decision to increase ERP operational hours and errect mroe ERP gantries.

It is ok if there is less vehicles.. but the problem still persists... during ERP hours still got jam... so technically we are paying to get stuck in a jam...
