Mark X "S" vs LGT

Hi! I'm looking to change my ride soon.....am consiering LGT seriously..... but was recommended by some friends to take a look at the Mark X.......after reading through the threads and MArk X forum.... seem like the closest comparison is the "S" package......

But from the limited knowledge I have garnered:

 

Pros of the Mark X "S":

- sports suspension but not sure how it compares in performance to the stock LGT

- 18" factory rims compard to LGT 17"

- sports pedal

- JDM privacy rear windows

- keyless/start botton(option)

- RWD

- VSD

- FC

- Insurance cheaper

- 6 speed auto vs 5 AT

- looks....

 

Pros of LGT:

- AWD

- Power/torque

- pedal shift

- cruise control

- factory sunroof

- factory 13 speakers McIntosh system

- 6 air bags compared to 2?

- SI- drive

- OMV higher or same

- Resale of LGT is same within it's model class... whereas "S" package will not get you the price premium as "L" package in resale market

- aftermarket parts readily available....very tunable to harness more power/torque/handling

 

Anyone care to offer your opinion on the choice and pros/cons?

Hello bro

Though i dont really know much about LGT.

LGT is good and Mark X is equally good.

Mark X is for refinement and luxury, and the icing on the cake, the sweet v6..

LGT on the other hand, is more a drivers car.... very modifiable...compared to Mark X.

But i have seen really Modded Mark X's and they are chio!

for me, I would go for the Mark X as i prefer luxury, refinement, and veesix. But dont let my views affect you.

erm...I look at the interior of the LGT and Mark X....LGT seem to win leh....some more the LGT fit and finishing classier....

luxury wise....the specs do not support ur opinion that mark X is more luxurious leh....

these are the things that Mark X dun have(even options):

-premium sound system

-sunroof

-cruise control

-dual zone climate control

 

The thing I'm curious is that on paper it seem like the pricing of the LGT and "S" package Mark X is almost similar......what are the considerations when these guys go for PI Mark X compared to AD LGT?

in my opinion i feel that the mark X is a better choice due to its build quality. i dun really fancy the layout of the LGT though. on our roads, like wad other forumers have quoted, a modded mark X actually looks very good(full bodykitted, HID headlamps) [nod]

 

its gotta be the mark X for me. [thumbsup]

Though MarkX maybe strong in its own rights, I will never get a PI car cos their service support and warranty is close to none. Furthermore, I will believe a LGT is worth more than a PI Toyota on the resale market. Drivability, power delivery, image and finishings wise: V6 RWD doesn't come even close to a Turbocharged AWD.

 

Having said, I cannot afford both rides at the mmt and would not mind either if given free [:p]

Both cars were in my consideration list and I actually wanted to book a LGT a month ago but too bad, the pearl white is no longer orderable. I've test driven both cars and in terms of both performance and even interior refinement, LGT for the clearer choice for me.

 

Have u considered CX7? That was on my list too cos they r all ard the same price range. A good blend of speed, luxury n legroom in my opinion.

if you're looking for a more executive image, especially for biz/corporate needs, go for the markx.

 

comfort, semi-luxurious ride, markx.

 

value for money, bhp to $, then the lgt.

dude, just to add in to mark X 'S' package;

- HID light

- Sports Suspension

- Leather Wrapped Steering Wheel

- Driver and passenger side electric seat

 

PS* S package comes with a choice of black interior

I've not thought about CX 7....but changing from mazda to mazda seem like not appealing leh...also, mental block about driving a powerful SUV....... it is powerful but when comes round a corner [sweatdrop]

I like my car fast in the straights and corners [;)]

But maybe I'll go test drive and see how it handles... [:)]

seem like many have misconception about the LGT being not luxurious simply because it is turbo...

I had the same bias (I think based mainly what I saw in Rex/STis) about the subaru's interior.....but it just takes a visit to the show room to be a convert......

the LGT is a whole class above the Rex/STi in terms of interior luxury...

you'll be surprised that it is equal or even better than Mark X......

For Mark X to be on par.... must throw in all the options.....even factory leather is an option on the highest spec "s" package... [sweatdrop]

maybe you can drop me a PM on your current price for the "S" package? Cos from what I have heard, "S" package put it into the same price range as LGT.

Tested both the LGT and Mark-X 1.5 years ago before deciding which one to choose. Decided on the Mark-X based on the sweet 6 cylinder engine note. The LGT's boxer engine is too raw for long drives. Handling wise, the LGT is a notch better than the Mark-X. I even test drove the SAAB turbo charged V6. But at that price, it beyond my reach. [:/]

 

So you have to really decide what you want after the test drives.

Hello Bro...

 

I'm driving the LGT....considered the Mark X oso before getting LGT.

 

Frankly both cars cannot be compared headon as I look at the LGT as a roomier+luxury+AT version of a Rex (i.e. performance inclined).

 

Whereas Mark X is the cheaper version of Lexus (or wat Lexus really deserve/rightfully be priced).

 

My decision was LGT basically was to replace my previous ride (VR4). So Mark X (unless its the limited edition Supercharged....nothing compared).

 

Also, I'm very much into performance....so...comfort is my least consideration (anyway its not a car I'll drive everyday).

 

But, if its gonna be an everyday car, I really like the Mark X....Definitely.

 

Only "carrots" pay for these so-called IS250. One should really see the GENUINE IS250/300 in overseas!

 

Yet, most of these "carrots" puts on a SNORB face behind the wheel ... hahaha pls ....

 

Anyway, back to the issue.

 

Really, if performance and decent premium quality you looking for GO FOR THE LGT. But, if its great value + executive premium, I'll go for Mark X.
