it is not neighbourhood can't, if u have seen how a good school operate...u be impressed how much they go all out for the kids. it is like u have a choice of neighbourhood and a top school...ppl will be tempting to try the good one.

Ya....its the same logic for cars.

Ppl buy Conti car for what ????? Same car stuck in the traffic jam as the cheaper japs & koreans cars. Logically no differnence mah. Crazy to pay more 20-30k more right ???? [hur][hur][hur]

But its the extra comfort and that extra little "whatever" they want mah. Doesnt make sense right? A car is a car, all the same right.

Same logic with Parents choosing thier kids school. They want thier kids to have that very little bit of edge. Looking at our "working soceity", our kids really needs all the help they can get. [nod][nod][nod]

Within my estate in Sembawang, there are three Secondary Sch and two Primary School. One more Primary school in the process of completion. All within less than 2km range.

If these three also cannot enter, then something is wrong liao. No worries, I'll be the bigger gangster to my child. A 1.9m tall guy can definately make a primary sch student urine in his pants. Rite? [laugh]

Haha...u must be zooming in on Canberra primary school right. [sly][sly][sly]

But then again....there is also thier secondary school to think of later. I dont think there is a reasonably good secondary anywhere near our sembawang area. [:/]

People would think "Branded" mah...

Ya right....10 years later it will be a "branded piece of useless" metal. worth close to nothing!!!!! [laugh][laugh][laugh]

Comfort and brand is it really worth so much. 20k more ? 30k more ? or even 100k, 200k more ???????

These so call kia-si kia-su parents as claim by some bros & sis here. They are spending money for thier kids education, thier future.....isnt this worth much much than a piece of highly depreciting piece of "moving metal" ?????

Depending on their values mah... Some would stay in a HDB flat but drive a S500... Others would stay in a bungalow but drive an Altis... I believe if the child got "liao", any school also can...

all phases are ballot except for those within its cap or siblings in the school/alumni - walkover in. The foreignors phase are 1st come 1st serve only...dunno why.

Because all of them would then apply to ballot for the best school. Leaving the other schools with unfilled vacancies and then wasting time to resources to place the remaining children who failed the balloting into the remaining schools.

Balloting is the fairest way, but it's going to be the least efficient method. Who said life is fair anyway?

That's right. I am a parent of 3 kids and if I have the slightest opportunity to send my kids to the best schools in Singapore, I will definitely go out of my way to put them in those schools. If really really cannot get in then will go to Phase 2C and put them in a neighbourhood school. [:p]
