went with a friend of mine who is a sg pr from hk to showroom. as he is driving a lexus and doing business in sg. his dressing is casuel in weekend. drove a hyundai down to 2 conti showroom. the 2nd showroom we went was a nightmare.

no good morning greeted that is okay. SE smoking outside and can't be bothered. halfway we left. very lousy service.

my friend drives a lexus in sg. a es300 since 2001

actually thinking of changing to something different. as u can guess roughty which model. the 1st showroom cars wasen't really what he want. the 2nd 1 too arrogant. not friendly and proud

SE didn't entertain us. i know many customer around but they didn't even offer a basic service for us. look around and not satisfied mainly the car. secondary the SE.

so we went to a famous showroom in alexandra which hit top sales all time.

went to 1 side.look around before going to another side which is the intended model he is looking for.

spoke to a very friendly SE. served a coffee show us all the function in the car. sat inside and touch touch here touch touch there.

haven sign but got a good price for that car a 460.

i believe goana sign very soon.

btw the 3 showroom we went is

1st (B)

2nd (M)

3rd (L)

was really dissapointed with the service provide by the 2nd 1.

don't judge a book by it's cover.

Your friend should get back at those SE.. make a din .. see the general manager ... tell them out loud that you are ready to purchase a 7 series but because of that particular SE .. you are going to Merc... simple.. just screw back at them..make them loose thier job

That's what my friend did a few years ago. He had decided to book a Volvo S80 and went to SM Motors showroom on a Sat afternoon, dressed in bermudas and slippers. Got fed-up because nobody bothered to attend to him and drove to the showroom next door. Ended up booking a E240. After that, he immediately went back to SM Motors and showed the SEs there the booking confirmation he just signed with C&C. Really made his day when he saw how the faces of those stuck-up SEs dropped (they recognised him from his earlier visit).

I know this is slightly off topic:

Same for housing agents!! Went window shopping on a weekend. Got assigned to this housing agent at the show unit (SOP) and because it an expensive development and my wife and I are rather 'young' for the normal market for that kind of housing, the housing agent made a lot of sacarstic remarks when he was showing us around. [thumbsdown]

Yeah. I not that rich. But if these sales people carry on with this kind of snobbish attitudes, they better be prepared to eat humble pie one day like what Terry3922T's friend did. Cos in the end, they are the one that literally throw the deal out the window

I've already decided that the next time I look for a car/house, I will dress how I like (confortably) and I will let the SE or agent bring me around (with his/her sacarsm). End of the day, if I really want the product (car or house), thank the SE/agent for his/her time, walk to another SE/agent that I prefer and process the deal with THAT agent/SE.

WE are the customers. WE decide who the business go to.
