which model do you mean?

LS 460 should compare with S class and 7 series in terms of luxury.

price wise,definitely LS is much cheaper.

you can't compare LS to E class or 5 series.

Bermudas and slippers seems to be the most popular attire that Singapore like to wear to showrooms. Is this the national attire or what?

 

There are high and low class 'bermudas and slipper' attire, sometimes 1 look and you can 'feel' whether that person got class or not. (please note I am not referring to got money or not, but then usually they are directly related)

 

If you are in a nice polo short in kaki bermudas and a nice Leather slipper, you will look classy and usually the SE will serve you better. (Proportionally more likely the customer can afford and will buy the car)

If you are in a 3 for $10 'visit Vietnam' printed T-shirt and a jeans fabric bermudas and a rubber bata slippers, then the SE will likely ignore you untill you ask for them.

 

Afterall, people like to talk/ associate with another person who exudes some form of class or sophistication.

with the booming of china economic, dressed in a classy attire might not translate to a much classier or person with sophistication. It's just a front which become apparent the moment that person move or talk.

 

But sadly, i have to agree that end of the day, a sale person have to size up his candidate to come out with a good sale pitch.

 

No point talking all bells and whistle to someone buying a pt a to b car, or explaining the performance of a car when he's most likely to be driven than to drive.

Generally, I think S'porean sales people regardless of industry are like that. Which is why I seldom go to those branded boutiques along Orchard, many times I go in wearing my weekend casual wear I don't feel welcome and no one bothers to serve me or answer my queries. [:/]

 

So for the last few years I have gotten all my branded stuff from HK, where I find that they are more eager to serve you even if you walk in wearing shorts and slippers. Maybe they are used to sloppily dressed mainlanders walking in and paying cash for everything. [laugh]

i think some singaporeans are also really too much, imagine showing up in public view, especially so in a luxury carshowroom, in tattered attire and slippers. whilst the customer might view cash is king, i'd like to remind everybody here to have some basic courtesy, at least visit the showroom in decent attire. save your flipflops for the wet market or the beach or in the privacy of your own premises/neighbourhood.

 

somewhat it seems to originate right from university days where students turn up in sleepwear/singlets and slippers etc for lectures where they don't even give decent respect to the lecturer. if not for national laws, people might turn up in underwear or nothingness.

 

so if anyone of you out there expects a decent level of respect from another(ie. the SEs or whoever serves you in future), do take the effort to put forward an acceptable front.

 

and in addition, we're talkin abt luxury carmakers here. it's a upmarket brand, a community, that's what you'd be paying for. i certainly do not wish to see the day where i pay for a bmw and see half naked yuppies mingling within the same community.

 

if fellow forumers find this is too much, just take a look at golf where the emphasis is on courtesy, honesty and mutual respect.

i'm not the 1 buying so it don't really matter. my friend said he don't felt welcome. like don't dare don't dare attitude. help yourself attitude.

intention was to check out models at mec. might consider getting it but a suck attitude by the SE totally turn him off. can't even have a chat on the cars compared to lexus which the SE really serve us well.

I agree that slippers is a bit way off [nod][nod][nod]

 

At least a pair of shoe, Bermuda & T-shirt is acceptable IMHO [:)]

if iam interested or curious to find out certain model but nobody serve me,i will just look around myself and molest those machines.

and if i have questions.i will find whichever SE is nearest to enquire.

if nothing fanciful, i will just walk out quietly.

i don't think have to feel scared or unwelcome.

if aim really interested to buy the model but the SE talk in a reluctant manner,i will come back another day and look for another SE to buy the car.

at the same time,ask the SE whether the other SE always deal with customers this way.

if iam not interested,just LPPL and walk off.
