CD Cartridge/Magazine will not eject

Hi, have a stupid question to ask. Bought a alpine CD changer but was unable to eject the cartridge/magazine when the car ignition key wasn't inserted. is this normal? Thanks.

not normal. even with the key out of the car, u should be able to remove the magazine in the changer.

alpine 634 changer? brand new or used? yes by right can eject even if key not inserted, i just got myself a used set some months ago and diy it up, Ai-net makes things so easy
