Yeobh 4th Gear December 6, 2007 Share December 6, 2007 Use to enjoy eating them when they first appear in the Singapore back in the early 1980s. After hearing all the stories on all the fighting going between the goverment forces and Tamil Tigers, I decided to call it a day . Mud crabs breed best in mud/ swampy lands, such places also act as filters to the sea and rivers where all the rubbishs and dead animals are trapped and they make very good food for crabs, crocodiles, etc etc
Slowmo Clutched December 6, 2007 Share December 6, 2007 Is it true that they really eat dead people's meat to get so big ah? most crustaceans are bottom feeders and scavengers... Crabs are omnivores, feeding primarily on algae [5], and taking any other food, including molluscs, worms, other crustaceans, fungi, bacteria and detritus, depending on their availability and the crab species. For many crabs, a mixed diet of plant and animal matter results in the fastest growth and greatest fitness [6][7]. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Crab to answer the question, yes, probably the tsunami victims contribute more nutrients to the sea. bless their souls, hope they have already found peace.
