They are gambling and often u lose more than u win FD is not a wise choice either. Too slow and the bank earns much much more and leaves the puny returns to you. Instead, try looking at online trading either stocks, options etc, property etc and you will have a better chance of getting a bigger car than u initially wanted. Not all IPO will give good yield, furthermore, you probably wont get full allotment of the amount you subscribe if the IPO is good. Nowadays there are too many China related stock IPO in SG. If suay suay, market turns against you, you apply sure end up with a few hundreds lots, then carry baby. If market still bad and the stock didnt do well. You probably carry this baby till 2009, 2010.... until market recovers.... In this current time, better for you to stay put and stop dreaming on big gain. The time has passed, period!
