because the older opc of 04 - 05, after taking away the extremely low paper rebate, almost no value already - cos that time coe high

my friend's 04 getz bought opc at 48k, now wanna sell less than 15k - existing loan amount 35k - scrap now means he lose at least 33k over 3 years for a opc! - depreciation of a bmw. [hur][hur][hur]

Rubbish lah, just add the pro rate of 7 years of rebate on COE, that is 7/10*17000=11900. At most dealer willing to trade it for 15K+12K=27K.

You still loss something like 65K-27K=38K over 3 years of normal usuage.

So, don't even think of scrapping your car in 3 years especially if the brand does not fetch good value in resale market.

Neutral Newbie
[sweatdrop] Wah why you so prejudice against Hyundai lei ! I almost booked a Getz 1.1M but eventually decide to get a Kenari due to the space. Some may think I am wrong but I feel much more comfortable in a Kenari than a Getz.

If you drive for 10 years before scrapping the car, any brand will do. But when resale in around 3 years, those jap brand will get better value.

But-ter, whatever brand it is, the depreciation at the 3rd year will be a killer.
