Damienic 5th Gear January 25, 2008 Share January 25, 2008 They are damn right waiting times is shorter. In fact, zero waiting time. I was near centrept last night and there was a long queue of empty taxis at the taxi stand forming from centrepoint all the way close to the cross road junction at Heeren/Orchard building area waiting for passengers. ↡ Advertisement
Destiny03 Clutched January 25, 2008 Share January 25, 2008 is sala! Heard from radio today tat the $318 figure is per day (24hrs), not per shift. So... usually there is 2 shifts per days. Assuming rental - $100 per day Fuel + Misc - $100 per day $318 - $100 - $100 = $118 $118/2 = $59 per shift Correct me if i m wrong. What a big different from the claimed $318. I think few mths back MOE also got wrong statics abt FT studying in SG uni... Well done! rental is 1.2k per month if i rem correctly. Fuel per day lets say 70 worht of diesel. meal 10dollar a day 1.2k / 30 = 40 dollars a day 70+40+10 = 120 318-120=198 198 / 2shift = 99 per shift. 99*30 days of everyday driving = 3000 with out CPF contribution. tat wat i thin.. Damienic 5th Gear January 25, 2008 Share January 25, 2008 Taxi rental last I heard is $97 per day for standard taxis and $100++ for mercs and some other bigger taxis. That works out close to $3000 or slightly over $3000 per mth. Each shift abt $1500 then.
Typhoonz 4th Gear January 25, 2008 Share January 25, 2008 That's pretty true... But I do believe that some are truly concerned about the taxi drivers...

I was near centrept last night and there was a long queue of empty taxis at the taxi stand forming from centrepoint all the way close to the cross road junction at Heeren/Orchard building area waiting for passengers. I think cab drivers are really suffering - I see lots of empty cabs waiting for passengers at TPY MRT station every evening when I pick up my wife from the station.
