ENGINE OIL LEAK

Hello,

Sad to found out that there is a very slight and slow leak from the joining

lines of my engine block. 3 months I need to top up about 300ml of engine oil.

I had my engine overhauled 2 year back due to gasket "burnt" and not sure why the engine leak problem. Can I use the engine "stop leak" product to solve this problem?

you can try, but if it does not solve the problem, then really another overhaul

Hi, what car u driving? If its a civic, then its perfectly normal. If not, better go for a check-up.

It depends on the leak conditions, in a higher compression engine it's normal if you drive the car/engine hard daily.

 

If the leak is not due to hard driving, than looks like the overhualed job wasn't done properly .

 

The "stop leak" will only work on small areas & also if the "leak" is internal & not outside the engine, IMO.

The leak probably caused by the inferior quality gaskets used during the overhaul. STP Stop Leak helps to reduce the leak but depends on the severity. In any case, it's not a long term solution but useful if u r selling off the car. But be careful not to add more than 1 bottle as it'll thicken up the oil and may cause other problems later.

i just encounter my engine oil switch has leak that look like a boy urinate.but no major problem.i think u got a major problem.get advice from ur mechanic or other mechanic n ask advices.
