Oneguy 1st Gear February 28, 2008 Share February 28, 2008 i guess a more appropriate comparison will be basing on AD Stream to AD Mazda5 in this case, from what i read, the following is true AD Stream with Sunroof @ $78K http://www.honda.com.sg/price_sheet.asp AD Mazda5 (presuming $82K) as mentioned above Then its a $4K difference between a 1.8L and a 2.0L AD car - a very tough choice indeed. ↡ Advertisement
Simply_lex Neutral Newbie February 28, 2008 Share February 28, 2008 (edited) This is just another choice open to his friend. After all, it's still from the same make and model with different features. Thus, have to make known, stream also comes with different models in order to meet one's requirement for the price they are comparing. Since this is not pure comparing, which may lead to purchase as well. Else, the title should be heading.."AD Stream and AD Mazda Comparison" instead, IF only streamline to AD's makes. Johnson 1st Gear February 28, 2008 Share February 28, 2008 yeah...power sliding doors!!! MPV main role is meant for families for happy outings and this is really neat. Sat on my colleague Presage and found sliding door really convenient.
Mage Clutched February 28, 2008 Share February 28, 2008 Is ther any change from the previous Mz 5 to the new Mz 5 in terms of passenger space? MM website gallery got problem loading ..
Johnson 1st Gear February 28, 2008 Share February 28, 2008 if u are getting PI stream (non RSZ) model, the rear are using drum brakes. 1.8L car with 7 passengers still using drum brakes.
Malie Neutral Newbie February 28, 2008 Share February 28, 2008 my choice will be the mazda 5. based solely on the electric sliding doors. the major point if you consider an MPV. If stream comes with electric sliding doors i think it will be perfect.
Akula Turbocharged February 28, 2008 Share February 28, 2008 Voted for Mazda 5, if AD versus AD. Think the FL model make good nearly all the shortcomings of the initial car. Also believe a MPV should have sliding doors and be as big/spacious as possible. NOT that the stream is no good though..... IF its the RSZ 2.0 litre versus Mazda 5 then....... Killingtimes Neutral Newbie February 28, 2008 Share February 28, 2008 My vote will be on M5 Why u need a MPV? 1) Space 2) ease of passenger in and out 3) cabin temperature behind Below are my consideration when purchasing a MPV. Actually to be fair, M5 should be comparing against Toyota Picnic and not Honda Stream
Oneguy 1st Gear February 28, 2008 Share February 28, 2008 if PI models are taken into consideration, then the Stream has alot in its favour. i personally like the RSZ but its PI ... some people still have a problem in their heads when dealing with a PI model. i don't know why, its just a generic feedback from some people that i talk to. so if you're open to PI models, then the Stream RSZ is worth considering.
Oneguy 1st Gear February 28, 2008 Share February 28, 2008 (edited) mmm ... toyota picnic versus mazda 5 ... that will be interesting, but the current toyota picnic is kinda old, need to wait for an update before its really worth comparing. for what's it worth, i voted for Mazda 5 ... simply because i am comparing both AD models and at a $4K difference, the Mazda 5 should certainly be more comfortable for the entire family with the sliding doors  again ... :P PS - with my vote, its a tie - 9 votes each ... hee hee Edited February 28, 2008 by Oneguy
Friendstar Supercharged February 28, 2008 Share February 28, 2008 same. power sliding doors are really a gem.
Simply_lex Neutral Newbie February 28, 2008 Share February 28, 2008 :) in this case, is very subjective. since the TS did not mentioned if he prefers to buy from PI or AD. so that we can advise is the car model features rather than advise him where to buy. as there's reputable and reliable PIs around too. Simply_lex Neutral Newbie February 28, 2008 Share February 28, 2008 yeah...Mazda 5 definitely is a more spacious MPV. and Mazda 5 cost is in between stream and odyssey.

AD Stream with SR is $76 and less 1K if take >55K loan. So that's almost 10K diff. However, the Mz5 comes with a lot of goodies. Armrest, auto headlights, foggies, sunroof etc. the new Mz5 should be compare with picnic class of MPVs
Gizmo Clutched February 28, 2008 Share February 28, 2008 Actually to be fair, M5 should be comparing against Toyota Picnic and not Honda Stream Yes, the new m5 should be compared with 2 litre mpv,not Stream

So the best would be compare against Picnic for this case.
Ahyoo2002 2nd Gear February 28, 2008 Share February 28, 2008 OMV of Mazda 5 is close to Stream, and it is about $4k lower in term of OMV when compare to Picnic although both are 2L.
Killingtimes Neutral Newbie February 28, 2008 Share February 28, 2008 tat is y a buyer need to consider many factors: compare AD to AD compare AD to PI compare CC compare OMV compare OTR price .......etc ↡ Advertisement
