Finally got a chance to test drive a MIC car. Heard from wifey my father-in-law just bought one. So I KPO go down to vertex to look see look see. Happened they celebrating their anniversary so got free makan also. First impression of the car is ok. Finishing wise better then the Geely CK I seen at Kallang roadshow. Features alot, got immobiliser, power window can close from remote after you lock car from outside, nice meter with fuel consumption figure, BIG handbrake and PWR window switches for passengers, built in reverse sensor with distance indicator. So I am thinking well it is not so bad after all until I start the engine. Idling still ok, but when start moving off I immediately sianz 1/2. Feel like making a round the building and pack back the car. But scare the sale person tulanz so I lan lan take it out for a spin. The engines really ROARS! So loud even my friend whom accompany me sitting beside me having a headache. Even I drive his 3yrs old accent also quieter. But overall cabin insulation quite good as road noise is not so loud. Wonder how would the engine sound if the insulation is not good. And the power sucks big time. Feels like driving a 1 litre car, floor the accelerator but can't feel any surge in power at all rpm. This would be the last time I would sit in any MIC again. Really will give me a headache with the loud engine and rough ride. [thumbsdown]

well, i think all of us have to be fair to others.

consider the price that you r paying for MIC cars, how to complain?

does toyota make very good cars? YES! yet when u compare a camry with the entry level 320, u still say bmw320 is better!!! why??? price of cos!!!

u wan to pay sub 40k price n expect a 55 or 60k product??? where to find??? i also wan [bounce2]

like the 70s, no one wanted a toyota or nissan or honda, then the 80s no one wanted a hyundai, but now, these brands r among the top selling brands in singapore.

give MIC cars some time, like some famous SG politician said, give C.... another 10-15 yrs, they can b lexus of china!!!

cheers [bounce1]

Three trees was knock down by the car......at 110km/h.......mm

The first tree was hit , car can still go.

hit the second tree, car can still go

hit the third three, car still move and finally stop

So the deceleration may not be fast enough to deploy the airbag?

Wonder if seat belt was put on.

Think a Top Gear episode featured several MIC cars in the EURO NCAP Crash Test and the cars proved to be a total disaster! DEATH TRAP was the overall rating if my memory serves me correctly!

this happened in china

for any airbags to deploy, the collision angle and speed of collision must meet the minimum requirement, else no deployment even if the car could be in a wreck.

remember many years ago, princess D died in a Merc S class, which was supposed to be one of the safest car in the world, yet was in a wreckage. WHY?

any collision with a stationary object at such high speed, no number of airbags or crumple zone or safety gadgets can save the passengers inside the car.

it all voice down to how safety conscious the driver is!

any manufacturer of car can do so much for a limited budget, and the rest is up to the owner/driver's resposibility to make sure he cares for his own safety, his passengers and other road users!

do not make a big issue just bcos this is a MIC car.

how Chery principals or factory is dealing with this issue, no one here will know. we have to be fair, i believe if this happened on a more established brand, the end results will still be the same

i feel sad whenever there is any car accidents and people died in them. please! car drivers/owners, be more responsible to others
