Altis 2008 vs Civic FD

Today Straits Times advertisement has got BM giving away GPS for Altis 1.8L. It seems they are keen to take back the No.1 spot from Civic. What Altis can't beat in looks will make up in equipment level. At least Altis has GPS and Trip Computer to boast.

as to whether which car is faster in longer distant run will depend on the driver liao...

 

DOHC doesn't necessary mean better pick up.

Compare the Torque and Horsepower of Civic and Altis.

You will find Civic is ahead in these 2 areas which means faster pickup than Altis.

in sg, as long as the car can move good enuff liao la, no need compare how fast cos u cant go fast and there's a traffic light in less than 100m

In fact this is what they are doing in other overseas markets as well. They up the equipment level and some have integrated DVD HU that comes with GPS. Anyway, no big deal in giving away a portable GPS for local ALtis 1.8L (how much only?). Heard the subsequent of Civic will also be equiped with GPS. GPS is actually a standard feature these days in many ang mo countries.

if talk about 1.6L, close two eyes Altis wins

if talk about 1.8L, close one eyes Altis wins, in term of Price

If talk about transmission, close two eyes Civic wins, coz altis no MT

Civics look better but its look cannot last, its style is subjective

(to me, its beng-factor is very high), performance is not great, a 1.6l to get

120+ bhp is no big deal, and road handling is moderate.

so paying some $74k + is a sad story for these owners, 2nd hand market is only

$60+ for a 1 yr old civics.

Thing is, Civics never sell better than Corolla in a re-sale market, and this

tradition will carry on.

1) Price diff

2) Eng can't compare as Altis have no Vtec.

3) Styling is out too being Altis using the old base with new "dress" where Civic is totally new plateform and design.

the vtec in fd is use for better FC, normal cam switch to eco cam.
