Hi all,

I'm driving a 2006 model Altis.

Just bought a gallon (3.785L) of Red Line 5W30 for servicing.

Is this amount of oil enough? Because the mechanic told me that the level of oil is in between the 2 dots on the dipstick after changing oil, and it should be at the upper dot.

Please advice =)

I am currently driving an Altis 2006 (Thai made). My central console lid (above the lid cover for cigarette) is broken - left side hook of gave way. I have been searching around for a replacement but to no avail. Last week, I went to Borneo Motors servicing centre and they told me that they do not have parts for this model anymore (he mentioned that the parts supply has stopped for the last 5 years). The only way was to seal up the lid cover permanently so that the console still looks good (but cannot use the compartment. According to Borneo, I am not the only person facing this problem. Also, those parts from Japan-made models (Corolla, Axio, etc) cannot be used for the Thai-made as they are different....not sure why !

I personally find this explanation un-acceptable especially since I bought my car in 2006 and it came with 3 years warranty then. What it meant was that Borneo sold me a brand new car with warranty but had no parts replacement !

In any case, does anybody here face the same issue ?

Does anyone here knows where can I get a replacement part for this ?

Thanks for your advise.

Try the various Toyota stockist like Ric-Tat, Connald Motors, Min Ghee, JAE Auto, He Xing. Dont bother to waste time on BM.

I broke mine in last than 2 yrs when I got my ride in the middle of 2007. I replaced it at BM, so I don't know why BM said they stopped producing the parts for the last 5 yrs when I got it changed in about 2009!!! [confused]

I did my change at BM Leng Kee.......

I enquired at the BM service centre in Eunos.

The service manager told me that for Japan-made ones, they generally keep stock for 9 years, but the Thai model is only for 5 years. Moreover, as mine is the dark Walnut console, it is one-off.... [:(]

Luckily thanks to 6th-Gear and Seanboi, I called Ric-Tat and they said that they have the parts (the side-legs) which only costs a few dollars. The only problem is that Ric-Tat only sells the parts. I need to get a workshop to fix it up. I will go check it out tomorrow.

Thanks.

i think you should use the extra money to do a full servicing on the car first change all the belt, flush coolant, engine. to make sure you have a good ride on 2006 car.
