Currently getting 9+km/L for the 230JM, was told the Teana 2.5L has proven to be around 8% more fuel efficient.

According to customer feedback from SE, fuel economy of current 350JM is almost similar to 230JM.

Was anticipating gear change but it never happened, kick down felt funny initially, usual method for 4sp auto kick-down simply created more CVT roar.

It feels a tad more responsive than 230JM, steering felt light though I was told its weight is variable and controlled electronically in accordance to speed.

The interior does feel much better built than 230JM. It does not feel "plastic" and controls are tactile, door panels are also better designed.

The engineers at Nissan has made an effort to hide ugly buttons. For example, control buttons for the seat cooler are hidden under the arm rest, glove compartment is also bigger.

Ottoman front passenger seat and automatic dual memory driver seat are a plus, factory fitted leather is perforated.

Another plus point is the improved design of the key, in-car key charger and factory fitted six piece front load disc changer with AUX in.

Wheels no longer look like donuts with the 17" rims, wood trimming looks more pleasant.

Suspension feels stiffer and no longer bottoms out when driving over humps, existing 230JM is very prone to bottoming out and scraping curbs when parking.

However, bonnet is no longer supported by gas shocks and even the 3.5L version does not have projector lens though its equipped with HID, engine bay is even more cramped than the current model.

The CVT gearbox does roar a little though engine is silky smooth, perhaps I'm still not used to the CVT gearbox.

Unlike the 230JM, Teana comes with 4 factory fitted alloy and not 5.

The only thing which is holding me back from the 3.5L version is the dual sunroof, have to seriously consider that factor though it looks good, the additional torque should help in city driving and long distance family outings.

The rubber strip in the middle is exposed and I'm worried about water leakage after a few years when it starts to deteriorate.

For another 9K, the difference between 2.5L and 3.5L are

1) Tiptronic

1) Additional 2 air bags

2) Dual sun roof

3) Does it have any additional driver assist besides TC and VDC? (compared to 2.5L)

Is it true that OMV difference between 2.5L and 3.5L is about 5K?

Thanks. [:)]

Brother, are you driving the Cefiro? Which version was that?

I would say that Teana or Cefiro has done a good job on its interior as the material used are very good and no sign of cost cutting compared to its rival like Camry, Accord or Mazda 6.

The interior will gives you a very comfortable and luxury feeling, you will not even feel stressful after a long journey driving the car. [thumbsup]

I went to see the new Teana at Ubi on Sat morning. Nice looking executive car. If the 2L version comes with audio controls on the steering, it would be better though.

The 2L version seem to have many items missing and only available in the 2.5L version compared to the previous Cefiro model, items are powered sunshade, memory seats and projector headlight.

I would prefer the bonnet to be fitted with hydraulic support like the previous model.

The interior is first class for a car in this price category.

Apart from the bonnet losing its gas hydraulic system (which is puzzling since how much can they save on this when they have included other expensive options)the 2 negative observations are:

a The maximum height of the adjustable steering is about 1 inch lower than the outgoing Cefiro which means less leg space between the leg and steering for tall drivers.

b) The more serious concern is the CVT causes a roar which makes the Teana more noisier on the go especially when revved than the outgoing Cefiro. This is quite a major negative for people who buy the Cefiro/Teana for its quietness. I guess Nissan did not mind compromising the noise level in exchange for supposedly better fuel efficieny and a smoother gearbox.

Neutral Newbie

Seriously considering the 250XV with all those extra features but the most impt pt is the FC... Hope the bros here will give some feedback between the 2 models when the time comes. [:p]

Current models' FC seems to be promising but how frugal u expect a 2.5L to be? Personally, if budget allows, I would definitely go for the 2.5L [inlove]

So considering quite lucky to get the previous Cefiro as my 2L comes with memory seats, powered sunshade and also the gas shock support for bonnet, not forgetting the engine with 143 bhp. thumbsup.gif

Not buying the car, can look for you also if I want to check out the new Teana?

I guess it depends on the driver, whether he is driving it as his own car, or his company car.

The Cefiro makes a good chauffeur-driven car! [sunny]

Since you said it was so comfortable and very luxurious.
