The only way petrol companies will buck up is when alternative energy driven vehicles start growing. CNG, electric, Hydrogen, solar, water ...etc Only then will they learn their lesson and try their best to court their customers. By then, it'll be too late for them. At the meantime, they will milk as much from drivers as they can. [bigcry]

I know this has been posted and polled before but using a different method.

I was wondering how many of us here will be willing to STOP driving for 1 month and only take public transport. The impact will be,

1) Petrol company taking will get hit badly

2) ERP takings will drop significantly

3) Parking takings will drop significantly

We have no way to stop petrol company from raising price, we have no way to stop LTA erecting more ERP gantries. But we can voice our unhappiness by our actions.

So who will do it?

Singaporean to unite for a cause, difficult. They complain about everythin, but when comes to demostration, all back down. But that's not it, they'll discourage you and give excuses why it'll not achieve the goal.

But demo is also about voicing our unhappiness publicly, and telling them that we are not the quiet, kwai kwai type thats take sxxt from the cartel. It's really time to shed that image of 'letting the cartel runs over us and still keep quiet'. That's only tell them that they can still squeeze somemore.

to a certain extend yes, because eventually the companies providing the alternative energy will be from the same petrol companies, like the CNG.

good thing about CNG is we will not need to worry about running out of shortage; unless bad harvest for the year

you are right, the purpose of this thread is not to start a boycott but rather to have a feel of what the general population thinks. from this, i will know we can quietly suck up to watever that is going to throw at us, regardless whether u like it or not.
