Honda Stream

Come to think of it, if 3rd row MPV not safe, then those 5 seater MPV like jazz/fit/getz/mazda2 2nd row also not safe. But the new fit has really bigger boot space, almost a small sedan equivalent.

Today went to test drive stream with my MIL and maid. MIL actually commented that the road noise is more audible than my old vios. Should be the magic of my BS GR80 wheels plus stream has wider wheel so higher road noise. She also finds the 2nd row more squeezy than my old vios, and even asked the agent is this a 6 seater and not 7 seater. Visually, I do find the interior shoulder space for the 2nd row is less than my old vios.

Not yet to confrim buying but was quoted $76,000 after all the discounts, plus free solar film and side window visors. Is this a good deal? I asked if can add in free GPS system, the agent said may consider if I really buying.

Last week I was quoted $80K from a PI in a shopping centre roadshow. He tried to suggest to me that the KM stream is likely from thailand, and KM only got 1 interior colour. The fact is KM has 2 choices of interior colour. And the specs given by KM is very good already. I do not know what to ask for more (I do not like my kids to watch DVD when driving - can affect their eyes).

I do agree that MPV is a car where one will never regret in every possible family transportation situation.

KM stream 1.8A OMV is ~$20,637, which translate to the basic cost of $66,849 based on latest COE at $17,510. This means KM will earn $9,151(13.7% of basic cost) if the bidded COE remains at $17.5k. Sound quite reasonable, right?

KM motors stream using 17" rim? i think their tyre profile is <55. road noise should not be significant.

anyway mine was 15" when collected and tyre profile was 65 laugh.gif. It was real quiet and comfort. smile.gif

2nd row should be pretty spacious and moreover the whole stretch of 2nd row can be adjusted

front-back. Width wise should be slightly wider than your old vios. However, the 2nd row, passenger

might feel higher in height than the front passenger & driver.

Check with your PI the model of the Stream he/she is quoting to you. As mentioned earlier in this thread,

there's min. 5 different models. mainly accessories and parts difference, Unless not including the 2L version.

Regret or not, is up to individual needs. wink.gif

1) If you like Toyota ( you sounds like Toyota hard core people to me), I heard new Wish is coming soon

2) KM at $76k, meaning after $1k discount for taking $55k loan? From my understanding, very easy to get a much better discount, so the GPS that you ask for, likely can. if can not, I can recommend you someone else that I know of.

3) KM stream 100% from japan

4) PI selling at $80k? which version? The style edition, which is better than KM one, the max you are paying should be $75k.

5) KM Stream has 2 choice of interior? I thought only one? Can eleborate a bit more on this?

Bro, you are right, 2nd row is not as large as say a wish not sure about vios.

Whether good deal or not also depends on what you get for your trade in value. But do ask for a KM 3m replica mat.

That one has eyelet to hook the driver mat in place. In that aspect better than 3M. Ask them to thrown in an aircon filter as well.

The PI is right to say that KM only have 1 choice of interior plastic color (beige)

Leather there is 2 beige or black. But mix black leather and beige plastic is err yucky.

Put it this way, I am quite surprise some PI are selling higher than KM for the x model with 4k lower OMV.

their profit must be skyhigh.

if i really a toyota fan, i wouldn't bother to consider stream and just wait 2 months for the BM wish. But between wish and stream, after some detailed research, I choose stream.

as what Orisis has clarified, it's not really 2 interior colour, but the leather seats got 2 colour, beige or black. The showroom have 2 streams each having different leather colour. the black+beige combination reallys looks ugly.

I think the stream is really having tighter shoulder/butt space than the old vios, looking at the stream interior picture carefully. The 2nd row doors has the cup holder and pocket part, which old vios do not have. So this takes up a bit of the width space. anywhere, let's not argue over this. I am just stating my observation.

Really appreciate if you can PM me the KM agent who can offer a lower price for stream.

Actually I am now more of 80% choosing stream. It's now a matter of waiting for Cat B COE to come down or when KM can offer me a lower price. Ya I know I have switched from 99% Altis, but I think having a 7-members family really leave me no choice on sedan.

If u dont mind korea mpv maybe u can consider Carens cuv.

The width confirm u satisfied. At 1820mm width is same as camry.Stream is only 1695mm.

Just bring u MIL go to c&c showroom look see look see & compare with stream.

U will surprise these mpv is very refined & quiet.

i got considered carens III. at $65K with more space than stream, it's really a good deal, plus i find its rear much better looking than stream. and movement into the 3rd row is much easier also. And it's really an ideal family car: economical price+spacious+quiet+comfort+climate control aircon+user friendly, and i think korean reliability is also improving. but....

still choose stream because of brand.

it's a 6 seater, right? looking at the pics from sgcarmart, the 2nd row middle portion is a gap, cannot seat people. plus it's a 2.0l, so higher fuel cost and road tax. and the car cost also higher, at $83K.
