An interesting read. I have also been on my RSZ last 8mths...been a smooth ride. Actually, for me...as long as I am light footed, I can still get quite good FC with city driving although I agree that Stream dont like city driving..it gets thirsty...

As for the 2nd row, I find it quite OK but getting into 3rd row is a hassle. Other than that, a nice ride for me.... [drivingcar]

Anyone on CNG Stream ? Can feedback on the pro and con on CNG? Also feedback on the performance ? Still thinking whether should go for CNG or just normal petrol. Many thanks

normal petrol. reasons:

- CNG also fossil fuel (will used up one day also). and whenever oil price goes up, CNG also goes up. Currently it is much cheaper than petrol because very few users. When # of users exceed that of petrol, CNG will not be cheaper anymore.

- increase your vehicle by at least 80kg (for the stream configuration), plus power lost by ~10%.

- engine can stall.

- the current stream CNG configuration will make your 3rd seats very upright, and cannot load large items from the rear door.

- stream is already one of the best FC MPV.

- best to wait until the CNG technology is fully developed without engine stall problem and power loss issue, and when there is a better configuration of the gas tanks such that it is no different from non CNG stream (e.g. put the tanks on the roof or underneath the car).

I sat in my friend stream yesterday. I can feel there is some vibration and a bit of sound in the car when I was at the driver seat (engine is on but gear is at park position)

When I switched to passenger position (2nd row), I can feel the vibration is more. Aircon was switch off but still got the same feeling. [shakehead]

Anyone got this experience? Her car is just one year old only. [:/]

Hi,

Actually I have the same concern as you. Expecially for Stream, when you push the seat all the way back and have someone to sit at the 3rd row, his/her head will almost hitting the read windscreen. And another concern is MPV is not like SUV where the SUV spare type is place at the back, so, if the impact from the back, the spare tyre is act as a protection as well, for Stream, the spare tyre is at bottom of hte boot.

I am considering buy Stream as well, but just afraid of the safety factor, so i think i will go for Civic instead.

If no children, then OK to squeeze everyone in the 2nd row of a 5 seater like the Civic/Altis. But if got children, a 5 seater cannot squeeze in people if put childseats. Like someone mentioned in this thread, it will be more dangerous to have unrestrained children in a 5 seater car than if a rear collision happened on a 7 seater MPV.

What makes u think a spare tyre behind SUV is safer and protects?

(edited)

My dad drives a Stream, actually it can haul 7 people with child seat. Yes it is squeezy but still manageable. Bear in mind that Stream is a small MPV, if u really need space, u should look at a large MPV like Estima, Odyssey or Grandis. Happy hunting for your new car. [:)]

Neutral Newbie

I second your comments. I was attracted to Mazda 5 for the same reasons. IMHO from a price point of view, it is definitely overpriced [:|] .

BTW, ppl do you have any lobang to repair broken tail light for Steam? Dad reverse park and kanna pillar.... [smallcry]
