Normally they charge 200-250 per damaged panel, inclusive of beating and painting.

 

Overall they seem to be charging you over and over for the same panel.

Just spoken to them. All parts are original. Not that we want to choose this workshop. But the car is actually rented. Hence, we have to go to their appointed WS.

 

The spray includes the fender, panel, grill and bonnet.

 

Will share the WS name if the negotiation fails. I feel that we are overcharged too. Acknowledged that it was a mistake on our part but had thought that the price would at least be reasonable. [:(]

I had a replacement car from a worshop which in turn was from a rental company. Right fender and bumper got damaged by a hit and run pick up. They charged me only 175 per panel, knocking and painting all in. Ive never heard of seperate painting cost, its normally included all in price.

The quotation seems to be charging for similar items that should come as a set.

 

The last labour charge is the most ridiculous as looking at the prices for the parts, one should expect that it comes will all related labour and accessories, and even then, it's already at a premium as all the exterior parts will be sprayed at one shot, one fix one spray one....

 

TS you might want to spend some time sourcing out the said parts from a stockist and get the parts to them. If appointed WS doesn't want to accept then the onus is on them to explain to the rental company why they don't accept OEM replacement parts. No need to feel. I can confirm you are overcharged.

Dun bother to negotiate, just walk away and find another shop. This type of repair job should be sub 1k.... unless u wan replace dmg parts.

Unfortunately, the car rental company insisted on using their own WS as they only trust them. We are unable to proceed to another WS even if they quote a lower price. In fact, some have already quoted a lower price.

 

The WS is also not willing to reduce the cost as this is the best price that they can offer. So I guess we are not left with much of a choice since the car belongs to someone else... The appointed WS is Hui Huang...辉煌?

I had thought the car rental company would also protect the interest of their customer by giving them choices, instead of slapping them with an appointed WS. Oh well, at least they absorbed three days loss of rental income instead of having us pay for it.

 

So the total cost now is $2950. A lesson learnt not to damage other people's stuff and to be alert on the road always.

From what I understand, in the rental agreement, it was stated that the customer would be liable for the first $3200 of the repair cost. So just nice, our repair cost is near $3200.

 

Any cost that exceeds, the car rental company will absorb/claim from insurance. This is really an expensive lesson learned. As much as we want to negotiate further, they reminded us that the longer we dragged, the more losses they would incur in terms of rental revenue.

 

So we had no choice but to agree, though we were very unwilling to.

Actually if the agmt states that u have to pay first $3.2k n does not state that it has to be the company appointed workshop then u could have insisted on getting a few quotes, m pay them the money or to do it at your preferred workshop.

 

Or ask which insurance company the car is under and go to any of the appointed workshop. I dun think they can say no even if contract state otherwise

WoW! Sorry to hear about that man. It's terribly expensive for something so minor. No doubt the internal support panels may have been damaged, but even then, these can be repaired at the fraction of the cost of a new one.

 

WS is really too much. Quotation same as minimum excess amount stated in rental contract. This stinks to high heaven of unfair practices!

I have looked through the rental agreement. It does not state that we have to use their appointed WS. Just said that we have to pay for the repairs of the car. Do you think we can feedback this to the LTA?

 

Ultimately, we have no choice but to pay for the damages. But at least, something should be done to prevent such things from happening to other consumers?

Can go their Facebook kpo kpo ~ best to call them to ask for rough idea cost. The same place got at least 10 Workshop to ask for pricing. I went around that auto hub to ask for pricing then this shop gave me the best price .. the uncle quite good
