Milan........ AC Milan had fallen from grace. European Champion one season and miss out on CL place the next. A squad full of Ah peks.

Raineri has been with Chelsea for so long and he is the nearly but never man. He is even worse than Wenger. I wouldn't put him in the same class as JM. No doubt he assembled a good squad. But a good manager should not just be good in assembly. They should be good in tactics and motivating players as well. The test is usually whether one wins enough quality medals.

I do also have grouses about AW in that tactically he failed recently although he is a master in identifying and grooming talents. His recent failures suggested his tactics have also start to fail of late which makes me downgrade recently. But at least is better than Ranieri in that he won double double with arsenal for quite a few seasons. Ranieri did not win anything major during his reign.

JM was fired at the start of 4th year.

SAF barren spell was understandable. My point is without the owners support, he would have looked lousy also if he were sacked at the end of the 2005/2006 season.

yes, there is a mini league in those cups..but you can qualify for next round by finishing 2nd..dun necessarily have to be first..and usually for the mini league round, most of the time, out of 4 teams in the table, usually another 2 is not quite the same standard of the other 2 unless happen to be grouped in group of death...and crucial period is still in those knock out stages where untimely injuries, unexpected red card, a poor ref decision and etc etc can swing the result the other way round completely..and once you are out, you are out..no chance of putting things right again..

yup...no backing very difficult to work...

Me think Ranieri is majiam RB...cant decide what to do with the players...

at least RB win some thing...

AW is too stubborn to play the "beautiful" game...

SAF was lucky that he won the FA cup...

if not mayb not managing Manu liao...

now not many clubs really support the managers...

few not from top 4 that i can think of is middlebrough & everton...

haha AW actually had support of his club management but choose to stick rigidly to his policy of not paying high salaries, high transfer fees and playing the beautiful (but poor defence) game.

he caused his own underachievement

I dunno wat Ancelotti is up to...the entire defence is full of ah peks..39 yr old Maldini, 37 yr old Cafu, 34 yr old Staam. His failure to replace an ageing defence is the reason why they fallen from grace until so jia lat..

haha if football clubs are governed exclusively like businesses, I think AW will be the best in this line. cos his returns on investment are sky high.

unfortunately this is a football game where medals count more.laugh.gif
