The horsepower is measured at the wheels. The manufacturer only quote horsepower measured at the crank/engine.

When the engine translate power down through the pulleys, drivetrain, wheels, car weight etc. It loses horsepower along the way because it takes energy to drive those components.

AWD drivetrain saps alot of power as it is distributing power to all 4 corners. FWD and MR layout loses the least.

TD04 300 ps? Quite surprised to hear that from a ex Legacy owner.

[sweatdrop]

Helo Bro....

You comparing Apple wif PineApple?!?!?!

HKS GT-SS is Fast Response performance turbo capable of upto 500bhp (with appropriate setup).

TD04 is a standard MHI turbo..adequate upto 300ps (with appropriate setup).

EA

500hp YOUR HEAD LAH [:|]

Feed some proper information before people blow their engines.

HKS GTSS with .60 comp, .64 ext housing only rated 320hp at the crank.

TD04 rated adequate up to 300PS ? Whose so free to rip the engine out and have horsepower measured at the crank ? Have you used a TD04 and pushed it to its limits ?

Brother, I think Dwoon knows this fact la. I think he was expecting something at least double 120whp, if his engine can push to 8K RPM.

I also agree that the fuel pump must be upgraded, if not the fuel pump will be maxed out and injector duty cycle will be too low (depending on the size). Changing to larger injectors while retaining small fuel pump doesn't mean more fuel to the engine. It is the upgraded fuel pump and larger injectors that will give more fuel.

As for the flow of the different turbos, it is only a "yahoo or google" away. No need to guess. I also agree that we should be responsible with our sharing of info and not cause others to suffer loss through inaccurate info. Obviously, not every info is accurate, although I want to believe that everything shared is out of good intent. So, please be discerning everyone.

Have a good day, everyone. [wave]

I think its pretty clear that the sig was a joke isn't it.

I'm not surprised if a WRX is able to hit 120+whp.

Mine was doing 100whp without tune with VF22. [rolleyes]

That was without tune ! [laugh]

VF22, Greddy FMIC, Bosch FP, STi 550cc, first dyno run 100awhp.

Nissan sunny chop me big time. [laugh]

After tune was 265whp @ 1.3bar. Speak about lag on VF22. VF34 is way better. [inlove]

There is a new Hybrid VF22 with 6 fins. Heard it is the same as the VF34 but with better top end. [inlove] I am using the VF34 for 2 years now, very enjoyable turbo. Was considering the VF 22, bigger and cheaper compared to VF34. But in the end, went with the VF34, no regrets. [drivingcar]

Sat in a rex with VF22..... no lag what.... but huge punch when boost hits....

I'm on TD05... which is supposed to flow more than VF22.... but not as punchy... maybe because mine is auto???

Brother, tolerance to lag is very subjective and differs from person to person. Tuner also plays an important part, with time and experience, tuners get better. Some tuners prefer linear, others prefer to have punch. Unless, you were on VF22 or VF34 before you tried the TD05?
