Whats's the difference between rubbing compound and polishing compound?

As above.

Which is better for removing stains on the paintwork caused by

a) bird poo

b) plant/tree sap

c) fruit sap (those small berry kind that falls on the roof and get squashed)

d) minor scratches?

I read through almost all the threads on swirl marks and scratches removal.

Most recommend 3M, Meguire Swirl and Scratch remover. Turtlewax Swirl and Scratch Remover doesn't seem to be popular. Any other DIY options?

Thank you.

Rubbing compound will not remove paint if you know how to use it correctly.

It is used for more serious car defects iirc.

Brand of your rubbing compound? Machine? or manually?

3M rubbing compound using microfibre cloth by hand

Some compounds are advertised as clear cost safe . But still do not polish too hard

Was recommended by the Service Advisor to remove scratches but seems like 3M got so many different type of products for car paintwork  [confused]

See until blur liao  :a-confused:

Hi Bros who DIY. I have a Cordless Polisher, which can be used for polishing/waxing/buffing and ideal for HDB carpark users. Don't worry, I have some compound for your convenience too.

For more info you can check it out on Carousell, just search for Ryobi Cordless Polisher. I'm renting it out. Thanks!
