Babsongerm Neutral Newbie August 4, 2008 Share August 4, 2008 Lucky you... SLK! Is the mileage of the 2 yr old much higher? If not, get the 2 yr old car. Conti cars are designed to deliver long distance driving, so unless the mileage is exceptionally high, you're not likely to face problems just because it was driven for 30k km more. Age however, is a determinant of the price you can fetch later on, so I'd personally go for the younger car. Mileage aside, look at the condition of the car first. And oh... ignore the condition of the paint work - most cars look very well groomed at the dealers. Look for accident welding marks, smoking exhausts, warning lights etc which are expensive to repair, esp for a SLK. Goodness... that's one sexy car![/reply] Good advice. To be honest, I actually really like the new look SL, but it's out of my budget for now. I AM however swayed by an ad in the papers this weekend about a pre-owned 2008 M roadster... decisions, decisions... ↡ Advertisement
Arowana1 1st Gear August 4, 2008 Share August 4, 2008 Let's ask ourselves. For so many of you who had been holding the perception Citroen is rather unrealible, how many of you actually had experience it firsthand yourself? How many of you are actually past or existing Citroen owners who had experienced problems on and off abt their rides and not through hearsay?? cant agree with u on this. imagine when u see a red flag flying on the beach on a stormy day. lifeguard tells u got strong under current that can pull a person under. so u go tell others who are stripping to swim the same thing or u go swim and get drowned first, then tell others of ur experience? Furrynadz 5th Gear August 8, 2008 Share August 8, 2008 there are ppl always willing to take a risk give u another example smoking kills, why ppl smoke sex with hookers gives u aids, why so many cxxk itchy ppl still out there if everyone smoked a single stick, or get their cxxk sucked a single time and would drop dead, then it will be a very sad world the difference b/w these 2 examples are that your example is an extreme case where its black and white, either u die or u dont buying a car does not make u die, neither does smoking a single stick

Casiraghi Neutral Newbie September 23, 2008 Share September 23, 2008 Hi I'm in the market for a hatchback and was considering the new Honda Jazz but looking at the prices - I can consider a second hand conti hatchback too. Problem is I don't really know the market for conti cars very much though. Can I get any MCFers opinion on this Peugeot 207? http://www.sgcarmart.com/main/info-2EEnFMqS-1063.html The list price is a bit too high in my opinion. Any comments will be most useful for me! Yaloryalor 5th Gear September 24, 2008 Share September 24, 2008 http://www.sgcarmart.com/main/info-2EEnFMqS-1063.html Hyperlink for you! By looking, driving this 207 is certainly more cool than Jazz (too common).

Sturtles 6th Gear September 27, 2008 Share September 27, 2008 Where do you guys go to fix your Fords, other than Regent Motors? I need someone with good electrical/mechanical knowledge of the MKII. Well, from what I know, because of the low market share of european build fords, many workshops do not equip themselves with tools that are required beyond changing of oil. Ford laser of course, has no problems, as its basically a rebadged mazda 323.

I AM however swayed by an ad in the papers this weekend about a pre-owned 2008 M roadster... decisions, decisions... If you can afford an M car, go for it! It'll be blast to drive. Karpi Neutral Newbie October 21, 2008 Share October 21, 2008 your friend also same as you, all the while jap? Me too, and I suppose as what Damienc shared on the perception. when thinking of purchasing a car, conti never cross my mind. deep in thoughts, can't explain. Somehow rather 潜意识 tells me is ex, maybe. Find chance must go try out the conti, infamous stable and comfort ride as quoted by most. Likewise, I suggest your friend go test-drive the contis that's available to have a feel for himself and ask himself honestly which he feel favour most. B'cos it's another liability which he has to decide. but of course, getting additional info here, is for reference ONLY. Good luck to your friend. ↡ Advertisement
