All my settings for Wi-Fi are default settings.... go into my Wireless Manager, I put Wi-Fi on, detects the network available, and will auto connect. This likewise for my home network, office network as well as for wireless@sg.

ok noted...

u stil rem how long your omnia takes to connect to free wi-fi?

So when connected, does it states Free Public Wi-fi as "Connected"?

Also, do you only open your IE or Opera Mobile only once the connection is established?

thank you

it takes just minutes to connect and it is not Free Public Wi-fi, but is Wireless@SG. I have seen this Free Public Wi-fi available before, but I could not connect, both on my notebook and my Omnia.....

I only use IE.... I don't know, many people says Opera is better, but I do not think so. I prefer using IE.

You are welcome.....

btw, did you disable your GPRS function using NoData?

I have disabled my GPRS function using NoData, ...hence my settings for IDEAS MMS, GPRS and Singtel are all disabled.

In other words, my 3G is disabled as well...

Donoe if these will affect my connection to surfing at free wi-fi spots or not..

It's a 10 mins job if you want to do it online yourself but the risk of hanging during the upgrade is high. I suggest you bring it to the service centre at Plaza Singapura for them to do it for you. 3 hrs job according to them, but I reckon you can get it back earlier than that if you KPKB enuff. Just upgraded my firmware to HJ1. DIY and it was a very easy procedure. Only problem is that it took me 45mins (I spent 30mins downloading the files because my connection speed was very slow). Still too early to comment about the batt life but the most significant aspect is that it helped resolved my problem of "not enough video memory" when I activate the camera. [thumbsup]

Wow!! Really cool shell! What's it called? I really like the weather and the clock. [thumbsup]

I just installed spb mobile shell last night. Playing around with the themes right now. [;)]

Couldn't agree more! [nod][nod]

I love the color theme so that i can customize it to match the skin of my phone (currently I am using a blue color iPhone skin).

I am trying to get hold of the iPhone shell where there is also a whizz bar to lock and unlock the device. Looks exactly like the iPhone interface, just for the fun of it! [laugh]
