Spinworkx Clutched August 12, 2008 Share August 12, 2008 That will depend on what maps VDO uses. Best to give the a call....they're no longer called VDO now, they're under Contenental (the tyre company) They changed names many times already... They're based in Ayer Rajar Siemens building there.... You can call this number and ask for help regarding this..67799-714, it's the reception number, just ask to be re-routed to someone who can help within the company :)
Redstorm 1st Gear August 13, 2008 Share August 13, 2008 Frd just gave me a VDO GPS and the GPS map outdated oready.Where can I buy or download updated maps?Oso deos diff GPS use diff format or you can load any map into any GPS??? I have serious doubts u can find proper map support in the web or buy one for your brand. Most brands of GPS do not provide adequate map support, let alone get a free map. Every brand of GPS works on their own platform and you can't use the map of one brand on another. Contax 1st Gear September 1, 2008 Share September 1, 2008 It's all about habits and principal. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 1) Battery life limited to 3-5 hours only depend on model.. need to charge That's what the supplied car charger are for. 2) If forget to keep when you get off car, wind screen may be smash.. a matter of habits , just like cash card. 3) Friends may borrow from you anytime. Depending on what 'type' of friends you have .
Fabulous Neutral Newbie September 1, 2008 Share September 1, 2008 Yah bro.. I agree.. but if get the HU with GPS or add on GPS, the situtation will be different... 1) Battery life limited to 3-5 hours only depend on model.. need to charge That's what the supplied car charger are for. With built in GPS, no need to charge. No wire, not messy.. 2) If forget to keep when you get off car, wind screen may be smash.. a matter of habits , just like cash card. Won't forget to remove/keep GPS, can just remove car key and walk off. 3) Friends may borrow from you anytime. Depending on what 'type' of friends you have. My college very "gian pheng"/cheapsate one... gurantee will borrow from me when he go north one. With in built GPS, even if I lend him, he also can't use... Contax 1st Gear September 2, 2008 Share September 2, 2008 Then the upfront investment will be a little bit heavy liao.... Just tactfully tell your 'gian pheng/cheapskate' colleague whatever reason you can think of to disuade them .At the end of it , you pay with your own money and not some common property .Nothing to pie-say about .
