Anyone knows where to get original Putu Mayam (i.e. with grated coconut + gula melaka, not orange sugar) in the east? Long time no eat.

It's not called orange sugar, lah, even though it may look orange or yellowish in color. Actually, it is called brown sugar. Can hardly find such food anymore. I know there is one in the Caltex station in JB just before u reach the Johor immigration counters on the way back home. An indian man used sell it on his bicycle. I bought it once but can't remember if it's brown sugar or gula melaka.

The one I tried selling from his bike at the Petronas station wasn't nice. The coconut provided was dry & tasteless. And the sugar was brown sugar ... not palm suger. [rolleyes]
