  1. Hi anyone know of any good car wash in the East? Non petrol kiosk though. In areas like between Tampines and Kaki Bukit. And is there any that opens till late?
  2. I am not a strong fan of WU BAI, but he gotta be one of the best mandarin / hokkien rock stars....
  3. Hi I need to repair my watch and looking for professional in Clementi and Jurong East area. Anyone to recommend? Ronald
  4. When if comes to overtaking, we bet this Honda Civic driver is one of the most skilled drivers on our road if not the most skilled. This happened on Christmas eve at around 11:45pm along Bartley East Rd in the area of Kaki Bukit towards the CTE and we must say we are impressed with the precision of the overtake. As you can see from the clip, the matt-greenish Civic Turbo came out of nowhere and moved across from one lane to the other with not much room to spare, before proceeding to accelerate away briskly. Think you readers can do better? Let us know what you reckon in the comment box below!
  5. Big Box opened today! Yes, today, 27 Dec 2014. Big Box is a warehouse retail mall, located very near to Jurong East MRT station. We decided to go check it out. It was crowded! True to its name, it felt like a huge warehouse. The most interesting was the hypermarket on the ground floor, selling goods in a warehouse concept. Were the stuff sold at the hypermarket cheap? Not really. Some things seem a bit cheaper than say NTUC, but overall the prices were comparable. But I could be wrong. We didn't spend a lot of time in the hypermarket. There was also huge space devoted to the sale of furniture on the 2nd the 3rd floor. It felt like Big Box wanted to compete directly with the likes of Ikea in this respect. This was the first day of opening and things were still a bit messy. Still, this place is an interesting addition to the retail scene. Check out the video. http://youtu.be/cdulBMKBLlE
  6. Overweight police officers in East Java go through weight-loss programme https://www.asiaone.com/asia/overweight-police-officers-east-java-go-through-weight-loss-programme "Size does matter for the East Java Police as they are requiring that overweight officers go through a weight-loss programme at the State Police Academy (SPN) in Mojokerto, East Java. The officers will go through a variety of activities designed to reduce body fat for 10 days. Fifty personnel from each East Java Police unit will take part in the programme from July 15 to 26, according to East Java Police spokesman Sr. Comr. Frans Barung Mangera. "It's a programme to lower your body mass index (BMI) for overweight and obese personnel," Frans was quoted by kompas.com. During the programme, the personnel must undergo activities aimed at reducing body fat such as running, wearing a parachute jacket, long marches, aerobic gymnastics, swimming and other sports. Aside from physical activities, personnel also receive psychological guidance. "Through guidance from nutritionists and medical experts provided by East Java Police, dietary habits and menus are adjusted to help reach the goal of this programme," said Frans. The aim of the programme is for East Java police officers to provide better service. "[so the police] are quicker and nimble in serving the public," Frans added.
  7. Are cyclists getting out of hand these days? We'd say so as more and more videos of cyclists ignoring traffic rules and getting angry with other road users have been surfacing. It doesn't help as COVID has encouraged more people to workout, with cycling fast becoming one of the more popular choices/excuses to get out of the house. According to SG Road Vigilante, this incident between 2 cyclists and the camera car happened on 30th August 2020 at 17:15 along east coast road. As the road is a single lane road, SGRV claims that the camera car wanted to overtake and horned at the cyclists that he/she is proceeding with an overtaking maneuver. Unfortunately, the cyclist wasn't happy and started some 'ah-beng taunting' actions. Do you think the cyclists in the videos are self-entitled? Or do you reckon the driver should have just queued up and drove slowly behind them? Let us know!
  8. While some of us who are working from home can stay in bed longer in this cool weather, others who have to go into the office had to brave the thunderstorm this morning (23 June 2020). Certain parts of Singapore experienced flash floods and there were plenty of videos and photos being shared around. For those who hasn't seen any of those, here are some of the 'highlights' from SG Road Vigilante and other sources. The Tanah Merah/Bedok area seemed to have had it especially bad. We were impressed most of the traffic still continued on their way despite the flood water at Upper Changi Rd. It is believed that it gotten deeper and a few cars ended up stranded soon after. af509655-736f-4915-b2d6-be4f95587fd7.MP4 Jurong East also had some issues with the flash flood too.
  9. With everyone encouraged to stay home due to the ongoing coronavirus , life must be quiet dull for most. However, we are pretty sure the motorcyclist at the traffic light didn't find his last friday bland at all... 92a4c569-89c1-4c7c-81f8-f298494e1650.MP4 Shot in an unknown heavy vehicle, the footage clearly shows a wild white truck doing a quick lane change at a traffic junction that has just turned red along Jurong Town Hall Road. From the video, we thought the poor biker would be bulldozed by the truck but amazingly, the truck managed to avoid crashing into it! Seconds later, viewers can see a police car coming to a stop abruptly with its tyres screeching on the bottom of the video, suggesting to us that the white truck might have been running away from the cops. According to the comments on Complaint Singapore, the police were apparently trying to arrest the driver in the truck and this was a drug-related case. Maybe more should heed this netizen's comment whereby it is better to stop in front of a vehicle that has already come to a complete stop at the lights...

(How many KM frm woodlands) 2) Where is the best place to stop for a nite before hitting up to Kuantan? 3) Which is the best route from Kuantan to Melaka? Isn't via Segamat? Last wk just drove to Cameron Highlands but had a nite stay in KL before heading up to CH. Thus, I'm worried that to drive all the way up to Kuantan would be too tedious?? 16. Accident on Monday 3 Oct 2016 at East Coast Road near to Siglap Centre. Raining heavily at that time and motorist lost control of the car and crashed. http://www.channelnewsasia.com/news/singapore/25-year-old-man-killed-in-car-accident-along-east-coast-road/3175042.html Anyone can tell what the car model is?
  17. In my younger & ignorant days when news of such appears I would have said "ho sei liao hoot ah!!". (I have no doubt that the Israelis are capable of carrying out the threat and will do it alone if they cannot even get the tacit approval by the US, their main ally) Nowadays when there is any potential conflict especially in that region, what will likely happen is oil prices hitting stratospheric levels causing world economy to suffer, including our little red dot. Just hope cooler minds will prevail and they will do away all the sabre rattlings to thrash things out calmly. From CNA: http://www.channelnewsasia.com/stories/afp...1183893/1/.html Israel will make own decision on Iran, says army chief Posted: 19 February 2012 0643 hrs

  20. HELP! TOILET BOWL EXPLODED WITH SHIT IN MY PUNGGOL EAST FLAT! Dear A.S.S., Look at this shitty situation! One weekend I came home with my familly and I had to use the toilet urgently. So I went in and relieved myself. After that, I flushed. To my horror, the flush not only didn't work, it started to overflow. AND IT DIDN'T STOP OVERFLOWING. I had to run out of the toilet and try to turn off the water mains in my house, but it still didn't stop. Soon the entire house was filled with disgusting shit water. I had to ask my family to stay over at my in-laws place while i waited for the PUB and f**king slow HDB to show up and assess the damage. You can see the damage for yourself. I even saw bits of carrots and char siew floating around in the waste. 24. Five people were taken to hospital after a taxi, which had been involved in a road accident moments before, crashed into an outdoor sitting area of a bar along East Coast Road on Thursday night. The police said a call was received at about 9pm, about an accident between a car and taxi. The ComfortDelgro taxi was then said to have ploughed through a cafe - which was closed at the time - before slamming through a low wall and landing in the crowded outdoor area of Georges Mad Bar & Grill where patrons were seated at tables. The Singapore Civil Defence Force said that the five people were taken conscious to Changi General Hospital. Police are investigating the incident. An eyewitness who only gave his name as Mr Deen, 24, told The Straits Times that he had been drinking with his friends at the bar's outdoor area when he heard two loud bangs. Before he knew it, the taxi crashed through the low wall and came to a stop after hitting a table beside his, which was occupied by about six people. He said: "One guy took most of the hit and he was dragged by the cab. But I don't think he was seriously injured because he could still walk with assistance after that." 25. Filipino militants snatch 2 people in Malaysia KUALA LUMPUR, Malaysia (AP) — Suspected Filipino insurgents seized a Chinese tourist and a hotel receptionist from a dive resort in eastern Malaysia, and then fled on the speed boat they arrived in, Malaysian and Philippine officials said Thursday. The kidnapping late Wednesday underscores the persistent security threats in Sabah state, a popular tourist destination and dive spot that is a short boat ride from the southern Philippines, which has long been home to a dangerous mix of Muslim militants and kidnap gangs. It could also complicate already strained relations between China and Malaysia over Kuala Lumpur's hunt for a jetliner that disappeared March 8 with 153 Chinese citizens on board. Six men armed with pistols raided the Singamata Reef Resort, according to a police report forwarded to The Associated Press by a security official. It said the Chinese victim was a 28-year-old woman from Shanghai, while the receptionist was a 40-year-old Philippine national. The Singamata is a midrange resort popular with Chinese tourists in the Semporna district of the state. It has cottages on stilts over the water. A receptionist at the hotel declined to comment, as did police in the district. The attackers were believed to be from the Abu Sayyaf, a Filipino militant Muslim group that has been implicated in seaborne kidnappings for ransom in the region before, said a Philippine intelligence official who didn't give his name because he was not authorized to speak to the media. Last November, suspected Abu Sayyaf militants shot and killed a Taiwanese tourist and kidnapped his wife from a resort in the Semporna area. The woman was released a month later in the southern Philippines. Authorities didn't say whether a ransom was paid. Such deals are normally not immediately disclosed to the media, if at all. The Abu Sayyaf had tenuous historical links to international militant networks, including al-Qaida, but a U.S.-assisted Philippine military crackdown on the group's heartland in Sulu province in the southern Philippines has weakened it considerably in recent years. The group has around 300 fighters and is more focused on ransom kidnappings than the global jihadi cause. Militants are holding more than a dozen captives, including two European bird watchers who were seized from Tawi-Tawi province in 2012. In 2000, Abu Sayyaf gunmen crossed the porous maritime border with Malaysia in speedboats and snatched 21 European tourists and Malaysian and Filipino workers from Malaysia's Sipadan diving resort and brought them to the southern Philippines, where the captives were released in exchange for ransom. Malaysian authorities, worried that the kidnappings have tarnished the country's image as a tourist destination, have beefed up security and patrols along the sea border. ____ Gomez reported from Manila, Philippines. Associated Press writer Chris Brummitt in Kuala Lumpur contributed to this report.
