Gall Bladder removal

I had the first gallstone attack last dec 2007. Went to GP, he suspected my liver having problem as my urine was brown in colour and in state of jaundice. Went to TTSH A&E with GP letter but was discharged as my condition improved. Went for three appointments in TSH till in late Feb 2008, doc confirmed I got gallstone. The doc encouraged me to go for operation.

 

I opted out and seek TCM, started to take chinese medication in mid Mar 2008. Had relapsed in Apr and May, the usual vomitting, back pain or urine brown. The back pain was really unbearable, worst I ever experienced. Never had a relapse since May 2008, just stopped chinese medication this month because the stool looks normal now. Normally, the stool got a layer of floating oil substance.

 

When I am free, maybe I will go back TTSH for a ultra scan.

seem the symptons matches mine. i got the pain on oily food...not so on over eat but if eat too fast...it take me 2-3 days to recover...

 

except that i am not thalassemia.

but nvm they missy there some not bad.... even the trainee doctor

 

 

 

4 holes..... hmmmmm........ could it be tat the surgeon is new to this style of operation and he repeatly opening up holes just to locate your GB .......

oh yes....my doc gimme back in a small plastic bottle with stones and liquid....anyway, i threw it away after bringing back home...

hopefully my dad can remove the gall bladder using the most minor/simple way -thru keyholes...

(PS: still, thinking back when my dad told me that the doc ask him to sign an agreement, make me more worried.)

as for 4 holes...er..er..your dr drill salah

 

jk...sometimes they need additional access to incise the neck

some patients make necklace or bracelet....nkps will make ring...typical ahbeng

my mum's gallbladder stones were very shiny... and everyone is almost identical in shape and size, almost psycho her to make a braclet out of it. hahaha

My personnal experience to share with you:

 

I went thru the operation last year. The doc told me that there are 2 ways to do it.

1 is by the keyhole method and another 1 is by normal surgery. The doctor did ask me to sign an agreement(in the OT) to go ahead with the surgery if the 'keyhole' is not successful..

 

Unfortunatly, I had to have my GB removed by opeartion... The operation took about 2 hours. Was discharged the very next day and rested at home for about 3weeks before can move freely... A 14cm scars was left permanently on my stomach...
