Since you have tried polishing and it didnt work better save some money. Bear with it.

If you really must get it off, go to spray painting shop and ask them to do it. They have rubbing compound which is heavy duty sanding compound. They will be able to advise you.

Have you considered a external re-spray about $800 in view of all the polsihing money you spend. All dents are automatically done too.

u ..... u are made wondering why your car is like that and .. the one next

Let me guess, your ride must be a dark coloured car. Imperfection shows out worst in dark coloured surface.

Next is where did you park all the time to inherit all these marks or spots. Even you get rid of it this time, but you will get it again when you park about the same places.

hi chickesoup,

my ride is silver colour, i parked in open carpark

as u park in mscp the dim light at night will show

the water spots.

i was wondering sometime is it i used the wrong

method to spray or wax the car.

i tried to look at my neighbour's car also park in open

and those OPC, same age ,their one is better condition.

that why wondering, i was seaching for some mild acid

that can shave off a top layer of clearcoat and then

i will applied wax or sealant or a PPS over it again.

regards

I wasn't referring to those plugged in to the 12V ciggy plug. Rather, those powered by a battery pack. I understand that such machines are not used for paint correction or any serious work. Just toying with the idea of using such machines for general buffing/application

Then just get Mothers Powerball and a handheld drill.

The thing is you have a problem that no pro will guarantee 100% they can solve it, especially without seeing your car.

So far, have you approached any pro?

one question: how often do u wash your car?

even with the best wax/sealant on your car, if you don't wash your car often enough, you will get those spots again even after you've resprayed/repolished your car.

i believe the price ($800) quoted is to resray same colour for outer surface only. the price is reasonable.

hmm outer surface is ALL the exterior body rite?

My interior is mainly black + 1 strip of brown at the dashboard (latio sedan).. so i want to stay that way

What is the difference between Masking and spraying ??

I know masking is to stick a layer of material over the car >> but after masking , can the car still be clean using normal method (wash, polish, wax) etc?

hi Four4s,

i used to wash 2 - 3 times per week and (sun/ wed and fri) (exercising haha)

wax is on sun when i am free. that was when new car, then 6 months later,

thesedays after seeing the waterspots, i wash once per week (sun or sat)

agreed with u that even with best wax/sealant, without caring for it

it will be back to sqaure one.

if you can keep up with washing 2-3 times a week, then i would say that getting your car properly polished is worth the money....

you would need a detailer who uses strong abrasive polish/compounds (3m, meguairs 105, menzerna) with a rotary/wool pad to do corrective work on your car and it's not one of them $70 jobs (that's too suspiciously cheap).

You can contact some of the pros on the forums e.g. Gen2, Coltagious, Benny etc. and they should be able to help you out.

I also looking for one too..one that hooks up to your ciggy lighter point and you can polish right away.

I was toking to the groomers today & they say the 12volt polisher not enough power. It seems u have to "burn" the polish & wax to get the best results. It needs to generate a certain amount of heat to b effective.

still better than using hand?

I was toking to the groomers today & they say the same thing. 12volt polisher is more like a toy. Cannot generate enough heat to make the polishing effective.

I bought those type of 12V polisher at autobacs before...it's really no use and waste of money [shakehead][shakehead][shakehead]

...you need those higher power rating machine to do the job as to breakdown the polishing compound.
