Hey bro Davc, looks like you know Meguiar's products pretty well maybe one of these days can meet and share some information on those Meguiar's new products range. I do agree with you that very often when we spray a detailer or spray wax onto the paint surface, the beading characteristic will tend to take after the lastest prouct you put on, you can easily notice the difference especially when you are using SV or Zymol wax.

 

Coming back to the water spots issue, very often it is pretty tough to fully remove etched in water marks from the paint work. But with proper compounding and polishing, the condition can be improved drastically as shown in the photo below.

Their new product not in yet. The #205 not it, the 2.0 pads also not in. I so so only, hobby only, not like those do everyday one surely more skillful.

 

That guys's car been compounded a few times already. I removed the swirls and oxidation, left with some pin holes, stopped there because my friend wants minimal invasive polishing. He knows that his ex-groomer compounded a few times, even seen them do it. Now he regrets never take care.

 

Honda says OEM paint not much more than 100 micron, so clear coat should be about 45-50 microns, then some car makers says don't take out more than 1/5 if not UV protection reduces and lifespan reduce becuase might affect colour pigments.......

 

Somehow, I feel I need at PTG.....to be sure.....But my car don't have this problem woh....buy a PTG for friend's car......that's too nice to them. haha.
