Tas0577 1st Gear December 29, 2008 Share December 29, 2008 Michelin tyres are good. Take a look and do a search. Sorry to borrow your threads as I am looking to change tyres too. I am looking at tyres like Yokohama S Drive, Toyo T1R or Bridgestone RE-01R? Criteria is balanced of grip for wet and dry but do not compromise on ride comfort. Spidercool 1st Gear December 29, 2008 Share December 29, 2008 me too just changed my shoes a few days ago from 2 months old falken 326 to Michelin XM1 due to noise and comfort issues. Had shortlisted GR80, T1R and PP2 then, but eventually got MX1 due to engergy saving. I'm still on 1st tank and cannot comment on the FC delta now. But immediate noise level is so low up to 70km/h that i can hear my engine running.

Tas0577 1st Gear December 29, 2008 Share December 29, 2008 (edited) Hi I am currently on T1R. Wet n Dry grip are good but ride comfort........... u can forget abt it. Yes, I have used T1R before as it is a performance tyre but the grip for both wet and dry is superb. The weakness is that it is very noisy but if fitted on cars with stock or original sound proofing, can we still hear the tyre noise from the interior? I have check through tyres like Michelin MXV8, Eagle F1 Assy, Bridgestone RE010, any other good tyres? Edited December 29, 2008 by Tas0577

Tas0577 1st Gear December 29, 2008 Share December 29, 2008 bridgestone re001, eagle f1 gsd3, hankook v8, firestone wideovals. I have tried Firestone Wide Ovals and this tyre give a lot of road feedback to the steering wheels, it include some minor vibration when you travel at high speed. I used this tyre for a month or 2 before trading in for another brand of tyres as I have done many times of high speed balancing but to no avail. Watwheels Supersonic December 29, 2008 Share December 29, 2008 Now all Michelin tires are energy saving what. Whether it's Preceda II, MXV8 etc all got the "low resistance roll".

I used this tyre for a month or 2 before trading in for another brand of tyres as I have done many times of high speed balancing but to no avail. I'm currently using hankook V8, previously on WideOvals and before that on Yoko C-drive. Surprisingly, the WideOvals are good. Ask me to compare for dry grip....the WideOvals are almost as good as V8. For wet grip, V8 is slightly better with less aquaplanning due to its 4 grooves design. But the WideOvals are not far off. Nonetheless, just trying to give an alternative view. I had no problems on high speed with my old WideOvals. I wouldn't mind using them anytime. Thanks for the sharing but I am just confused which tyre I should choose for luxury car? I do not want to compromise for dry/wet comfort with noise comfort. Any recommendations? T1R is good but soft sidewall. not good if you like cornering. But ok for normal drive

Err, luxury car? perhaps the hankooks and firestones not so "presentable" liao.. the XM1 seems pretty interesting, PP2 comes with rave reviews...what's your stock? Personally, I would like to try the S-drive next... ↡ Advertisement
