Tyres recommendation

Yes, I have used T1R before as it is a performance tyre but the grip for both wet and dry is superb. The weakness is that it is very noisy but if fitted on cars with stock or original sound proofing, can we still hear the tyre noise from the interior?

I have check through tyres like Michelin MXV8, Eagle F1 Assy, Bridgestone RE010, any other good tyres?

Side track abit...what pressure do you normally pump for your 16" T1R...or your recommendation?

the XM1 seems pretty interesting, PP2 comes with rave reviews...what's your stock?

Personally, I would like to try the S-drive next... [sunny]

Currently, my stock tyres are Bridgestone B390 and on 205/65/16".

Gt 328

$110 a pcs 17inch tire

Most prefer by taxi drivers, coz it's not that easy to burn up. Just drove up to Genting for christmas, push the car to 160 in NE HW in the rain..

I'm amaze at the price of this tire and it's performances.

This is what i personally feel, if other drivers got bad experiance with this tire, do speak up for the safty and benefit of other drivers.

I'm currently using hankook V8, previously on WideOvals and before that on Yoko C-drive. Surprisingly, the WideOvals are good. Ask me to compare for dry grip....the WideOvals are almost as good as V8. For wet grip, V8 is slightly better with less aquaplanning due to its 4 grooves design. But the WideOvals are not far off.

Nonetheless, just trying to give an alternative view. I had no problems on high speed with my old WideOvals.

I wouldn't mind using them anytime. [sunny]

I am also on Hanook V8rs. Just finished my running in. I find them quite good in dry and wet grip. [thumbsup]

I got yr points.

PP2 too ex for me and V8 is an older version than xm1, that what i was told and the Michelin website also mentioned that.

http://www.michelin.com.sg/car/car_cat_sed.jsp

Did a search on a net and discovered there is an improved version of Michelin XM1. Its XM1+.

Refer: http://www.michelin.com.au/news/showNews.asp?ID=205

Basically it looks like the older XM1 but claim to last 25% longer. But I wonder if it can last longer, so any compromise on the grip? S'pore Michelin website didn't mentioned about this newer XM1+....

I just changed to Falken 912 for my Mazda 3 205/55/16 few weeks back

Was on V8RS previously.

Noise wise similar when new. The V8RS was noisy after 30Kkm.

Dry/Wet Grip V8RS is slightly better when new. The V8RS grip deterriorated after 20Kkm.

Price wise...The Falkens are cheap at the shop opposite the famous AMK jewellery store.

i used for about 1 mths plus. dry is damn good but on wet, it seems to wobbles when going thru puddle of water.. the water cutting line is not that good. have friends who are using BS RE001 too, saying that it slightly lose to R888 (semi-slick) in dry grip but wet [shakehead][shakehead][shakehead]

Guys, based on profile of 215/55/17, which tyres below is good comparing the 3 selection?

1) GoodYear LS2000

2) BridgeStone RE001

3) Michelin Pilot Preceda II

I wanted a balance of Wet/Dry Grip and comfort for the tyres.

Yes, it is a Jap 2.0litre car. Guess not many have used LS2000 so not much recommendation on this tyre.

I have used RE001 since its launch last year July. IMO, dry, wet and noise level are pretty good. However, it definitely lose out a lot to R888 in dry. It has soft sidewall hence it will roll when u take hard corner. Dry grip during hard corner is not good but it lose grip progressively.

Suitable for normal driving but no suitable for corner lover & tracking.
