i dont like KSL...  i think johor bahru traffic is a nightmare... tho i like the food in the area...

so ... personal preference is go to bukit indah and sutera mall there...

Agree about the messy traffic from the Woodlands custom side. For KSL, Midvalley and Tebrau,  I take bus 170x and then travel by Grab and Teksi.

For Bukit Indah, Sutera, Paradigm Mall, Harbour Puteri and Kulai, I drive through the Tuas side.

Looks like cafe business in JB is popping off. Personally I would still go for those shophouse and roadside stalls for nostalgia.

Some of my picks from https://thesmartlocal.com/read/jb-cafe-guide/:

6. Roast & Coffee – Authentic Hainanese breakfast spot

20. My Liberica Coffee – Owns their own coffee plantation - heard that JB has its own kind of kopi that isn't arabica or robusta

25. Rainforest Tree House – Cafe in the rainforest with amazing view
