Rb26dett Clutched January 4, 2009 Share January 4, 2009 maybe the driver in the wrx is still new to the track at that time? considering that that vios driver is a frequent tracker , say if both the drivers have the same experience , i think that vios will smell smoke badly. ↡ Advertisement

Robo 2nd Gear January 5, 2009 Share January 5, 2009 there is no replacement for displacement.. on NSH..the 1.5L engine will struggle to even cruise at 150-160kmh when >2L cars will chug along nicely at that speed.. bro... my 1.4L can cruise 170km/h on NSH and still have room for more... it the driver most of the time not the car... No offense....but how much more to spare ? And how you maintain at 170kmh... My car can also hit 200kmh easily but when its up against the GTR...it was smoked badly....even though the GTR can only do 180kmh (speed cut)....by the time I hit 180kmh...I can't even see his rear license plate liao !! The last time I whack fellow SG cars on NSH was in my 525i....a convoy of Fit/Jazz was doing 120~130kmh....most of them gave way to me when I was approaching from the back....only for 1 blue dot FIT....he wanted to cheong and die die dun give way....when all the way to 170kmh....can see his car wobbling badly and no breath liao....finally put him to his misery and overtook him when the situation permits me to safely do it. Eyke Supercharged January 5, 2009 Share January 5, 2009 another sacarstic, non-constructive comment. yeah, as if your one liner above is soooo constructive. so what's your problem? are you Mr "my legally-modded vios can tail WRX"? or you just own a legally-modded vios that can also tail WRX? DarkLord 1st Gear January 5, 2009 Share January 5, 2009 It's quite sad that people only focused on the PG timings or the REX tailing thing. There's this guy who dares to live his dreams. He must have left his comfort zone to gone into an unstable business.. How many of us here can actually say that?

Lucaswh 1st Gear January 5, 2009 Share January 5, 2009 What's with all the flaming? Talk about car enthusiasts..all i see are cynical cynical remarks and unnecessary focus on the 'tail a wrx' portion, which who knows might be 'misphrased' by the reporter. Focus on his effort and guts to do up his car, not flame him. This is his passion, if he finds it justifiable to spend his money on mods, why berate him? It's not your money he is spending. I always thought car enthusiasts here should be more receptive to what other car enthusiasts do, and actually show genuine interest in his car modding process and at least give him his credit due. Dylanyap Neutral Newbie January 5, 2009 Share January 5, 2009 (edited) Hi member at MCF, Let me clear some the air, clear the doubts, clear the misunderstand and give you a clear picture of the report. I will try to answer all the question one by one 1) why dont have BKK... My Rotora BKK cominig on the way waiting for the backet from USA 2) Stock vios can do 180km/hr if the road condition allow 200km.... 3) I got this interview because i am helping out Garage R during the MME08 last year and a reporter interview me 4) I removed the video because you guy make me realise that the video was outdated... as it was taken during feb08... those are no my line anymore. dont wish to mislead peolpe 5) i am doinig 2:06 not 2:00 flat..( i am using a 06yr RE01R...for the track day with one passenger) 6) High performance powered car can do very well on Sepang, but for PG... the track is diff.... a lot of tight bend amd corners. only 2 straight. small compact NA can take corner without braking...entering corners at high speed like 120km/hr - 170km/hr without braking. thus NA catch up during those turn...TC win on straight no doubts about it. On the few occasion which i tail wrx...i am tailling about 2-4 car length...and most of the time the tailing start after turn 3 in PG. and please note PG is a bike track...good for small compact NA...TC car can track, but wont bring out much of the car... TC car big CC car perform well in Sepang...for NA vios... Sepang we lose out big time to wrx... 7) Vios have no speedcut of 180km/hr only Rev cut at 6500rpm... 8) the doubts on if Vios is make for highspeed...the answer is depend... how high speed are we talking about...for 200km/hr vios can take it...For stock vios...due to the suspension the car maybe lifted up by the air.....that all... 9) SPEED-D mean SPEED-D nothing else 10) When the reporter ask me why didnt i use 74k to buy other performance car... my reply was 74k back in 2005 cant buy one... become a WRX back then cost 87k...and a DC5 cost more than 100k...so hope this clear... i am not talking about 74k cant buy one now... if i have the choice... i will buy a FD2R straight with 74k and topup... 11) the GT-wing is not from Malaysia... i got is second hand from Chormas... Colin's drifting S15 12) For racing line... to me each different driver have their own preferred and comfortable racing line..that is no "one line fit all" if everyone take the some line... than there will not be any comparison...Orido and Tanaguchi line in the same car wont be the same also. 13) Please dont compare track and sg road... thanks two different enviroment 14) I am not a very good driver at the moment thus to those experince trackies...give me more time to practice to know my car even better, i am still tuning my line... i track veryy offen....because i bring customers up to test car...that all... i am not a pro. 15) I will be in PG track most of the open track day..hope to meet you guys if anyone going...come to share and exchange tracking tips and knowledge ( You guy know how my car look like...so you wont miss me on PG) 16) This newpaper report is focus in on "How Far one get do to mod their within LTA strict rule" and i am one of the many exampe. I didnt pay to be reporter neither didnt the reporter pay for the story...and if i want to promote my business, SPH will have listed my address, contact and operating hour all together... lastly. Car is my passion since young like a lot of other guys. i do what i can, with what little i have to achieve my little goal. Dream are only Dream if nothing is done. "Some man see things as they are and ask "Why", I dream things that never were, and say "Why not" : quote George Bernand Shaw thanks and regards Dylan SPEED-D PERFORMANCE PS, here is a video about NA vs TC http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0hhbGcTQKEc Edited January 5, 2009 by Dylanyap

Its a vios, not a sports car. If he really wanted to do it up, then he would have started off with the basics of stiffening and strengthening the chassis, upgraded his suspension and braking systems, driveline, then engine. Elfenstar 3rd Gear January 5, 2009 Share January 5, 2009 Noted. Thanks for the clarifications. I will re-ask about the timings. Keep practicing, but don't forget to work on your car properly. Chassis work is equally if not more important than power in PG. ↡ Advertisement
