I don't think so. Some Buddhist don't eat any meat.... I thin the 'don't eat beef' got to do with taoism.

Don't know the reason for not eating cow....but doubt it's for the same reason as Hinduism. Maybe farmers were too attached to their working cows and started a myth/tradition of not eating them.

i think there there are many Buddhas...but the one we know is the supreme one. I could be wrong. I'm neither Buddhist nor taoist.

True Buddist dun eat meat or at least during the 1st n 15th moon. Heard of the saying on farmers and cows, think it is more toward being Chinese and/or since Buddhism originates from India, where cow is consider sacred animal?

Yup, more than one Buddha (if I did not remember wrongly). But the indian prince one (the most commonly know) was Gautama....the supreme one.

I suppose it all depend on how 'on' one is. The 'on' will not eat meat at all....not just 1st and 15th of the lunar month.

But still no one can clearly tell me the real reason..

Cos i have a colleague who says "i am buddhist so i cannot eat beef" when I ask why she said she don't know....

When u attained enlightenment, Nirvana u become Buddha. U can say the Prince Siddhartha Gautama is the main Buddha. Kuan Yin, Laughing Buddha all are Buddha.
