Blacvios Neutral Newbie January 23, 2009 Share January 23, 2009 Long time since i posted a detailing post. Car badly needed a proper overhaul and got a new wax to try out from a christmas present, so here goes. The car is 1) washed megs NXT 2) claybared with NXT 3) DG501 AIO 4) DG PBA 601 5) Free wax (actually the same colour as my car) 6) Final wipedown with DG AQwax Close up of bonnet (see the four buildings) Wax yellow like my car Side shots Butt shot Final shot of the whole car The wax DODO juice banana armour This wax is supposed to be used on warm colour cars, indeed after using this wax my yellow is louder and looks more solid, different from our usual metallic duller yellow look. The wax has a very high grade 1 carnuaba content the wax when applied feel like a salt scrub. Overall very happy with the look and finish of the wax. Hi benny, definately got difference with this wax. Tried first without PBA. The look is too warm and flat for my liking, wanted some reflections so the 2nd run did it with PBA, i would say it is a good synergy. The shine and colour pop balance is just right for me. Davc Neutral Newbie January 24, 2009 Share January 24, 2009 I know about the emblem. The Flex paint sealer really works, the colour really stands out. The shine is really one the most natural looking one. If you like a more natural look and show off a good paint job, this is the one. Just use polishing pad at low rpm, apply really thin layer and wait 3-5 min, then you buff off with microfiber. As usual I will finish any sealant layers with one more carnauba wax, which I haven't. Because I want to observe it for another 1-2 days before I wax it.
Dodojuice Neutral Newbie February 2, 2009 Share February 2, 2009 Great looking shots! It would seem like a layer of DDJ Banana Armour on top really does bring out the wetness and reflection... How's the durability holding?
Sparks Neutral Newbie February 2, 2009 Share February 2, 2009 Last step is DG AquaWax, isn't the shine from the last step? Can Bro MD advice? And also what is the purpose of having #PBA before wax?

How's the durability holding? Two weeks into it still holding well. Beads well in fact too good as i work in tuas and when it rains, all the water just streaks off leaving the dirt behind. And also what is the purpose of having #PBA before wax? The shine is actually enhanced by the wax and whatever sealant or AW. The most important part is actually how well you prep the car, ie washing, claybar and polish. PBA is a pre bonding agent that will help whatever you apply next to adhere better to the paintwork, it also contibutes to the shine in this case. My views are up for discussion just my 2cents from my short DIY grooming journey.

Beads well in fact too good as i work in tuas and when it rains, all the water just streaks off leaving the dirt behind. Great to hear. Do you wash your ride every week? And does the AW go on after each wash? Somehow a polymer based spray sealant seem to work well with DJ waxes in that it compliments the beading/ sheeting action and locks down the slick feel. If you have Zaino Z8, do give it a try as well...was told that it deepens the paintwork a tad further in the looks department comparing with other spray sealants. You are also totally right when you said that the most important process in detailing is good surface preparation...we strongly believe in this too! Hi I wash every week with AW going on every alternate week. Have not tried the Z8 before, pretty much satisfied with the AW.
