Hi bro, i think you need to be more specific like whether you looking at a brand new one or a 2nd hand one and how much loan you going to take. with these information it will be easier to make an estimate.

monthly in the region of 1800 to 2000, insurance should be 3500 per year. my own insurance is around there and i am slightly older then you. running cost should be 500 to 600 if you have no major accident

good for you my fren! not wrong to dream abt wanting to drive that kinda car. But life is cruel sometimes. I have a friend who drove a BMW 3 series den change to SLK and now changed to Cayenne. He is 21 this year. [sweatdrop] Talk abt having a blessed life.

If you are not joking that you do not own a normal car now due to you still cannot afford, then you should set your target "a normal car" and not a "luxury car". When you progress to a higher stage later, those SLK questions you asked will not be your concerns. It is good to have target but slightly more realistic target every time!

i think the only diff will be the insurance which pufferfish bro has said le.

i dont drive a slk but i think the calculation should be the same with any type of car.

basically take your loan amount plus interest divide by number of monthly will roughly give you a base figure to work upwards.

dont forget about road tax too.

furthermore 2nd hand car will means a higher maintaince costs and original mercs parts wont be cheap.

my dad mercs every time repair bill is in thousands ranging from 1K plus to 3K plus.

make sure you are in a comfortable range before you commit to the slk.

being a slave to a car is not a good idea.

good luck.

:)

2k per month really depends on your down payment, year of purchase . slk 200 is using 1.8 supercharge engine. this engine is famous for having plastic seals issues but so long redline are not constantly meet. not much of a issue. petrol is good as quite fuel efficient.

during my 1 year ownership, nothing happen except changing oil and a engine starter that was replace foc as it was under warranty. this car is good as you dont need to send back cnc for servicing

changing tyres will means major offset changes. dont ask me why but it just happen so need to go bck for realignment
