Cjgoh Neutral Newbie March 2, 2009 Share March 2, 2009 The 1st day for COE biddin is not accurate to judge or base estimates on. I believe momentum of biddings, will start to show tomorrow afternoon, and will intensify on the 3rd day towards 4pm. This 5 received bids was observed in previous bidding in February, only to be shocked by an avalanche of bids on the 2nd day from morning onwards. By end of 2nd day, bids have already overshot Quota. With April's impending cut in COEs, this round will be no different in bidding characteristics. I only hope to secure mine, on first round of my Guaranteed COE purchase... Cjgoh Neutral Newbie March 2, 2009 Share March 2, 2009 Really...? Even if it hits rock bottom, the current quota 1839 won't be enough for the number of well heeled locals here who are taking advantage of the recession instead of holding back on purchases. In my opinion, this is the best time for shopping.

Leepee 1st Gear March 3, 2009 Share March 3, 2009 We all know COE quota in SIngapore is fine tuned to match the demand, or should I say to be below the demand. So that the COE price will always be >$1. Motorimage boss has already mentioned that the HUGE base of old and going to be 10yrs old cars which needs replacement are much much greater in numbers than the COE quota available. Unless those whose car reaches 10years old decided NOT to drive anymore. Unless those whose cars are >5years old can tahan and not change cars. There will be a tsunami of replacement car buyers when the first hint of economy recovery, some say end 2009. Maybe COE will rush up to $100k by year end...who knows? Seriously how long can these group of people hold back? Can you guys hold back your itchy backside in times like these, assuming your car is coming to 10years or 5th years soon? (Very difficult, IMHO) Totally give up your car and take public transport? (Not likely IMHO)

Eyke Supercharged March 3, 2009 Share March 3, 2009 Motorimage boss has already mentioned that the HUGE base of old and going to be 10yrs old cars which needs replacement are much much greater in numbers than the COE quota available. COE Quota for Cat A+B+E for May 2009 to Apr 2010 = 68,905 Num of cars 8yrs and older as at 31 Dec 08 = 3,605 , which is only ~5.23% of the quota. wah, very HUGE hor? y don't u do a bit of research before reporting crap?
