Chao5 1st Gear March 2, 2009 Share March 2, 2009 Hi. Asking are u using the paid version of garmin for symbian? Or the free to download one. I'm using Navigator 6110 too and will like to try the Garmin map. The Route66 map are not updated. The latest was 3rd quarter 2008 and still does not include the new Paya Lebar Expressway. Hopefully you can give some tips on how to use garmin maps on the Navigator.
Bigg 1st Gear March 2, 2009 Author Share March 2, 2009 of cos its paid, then how i use on my phone? hahaha bought it at sls shop called perfect watch. otherwise can buy online for 99usd. must buy and use garmin's sd card to use with your phones integrated gps, if not have to buy their external gps module. yeap the installed map of route66 not updated, 2006 sia! Chao5 1st Gear March 2, 2009 Share March 2, 2009 US$99 = SGD 140+ So how much did you pay for the SD card (shud be microSD for N6110) at perfect watch? See whether more worthwhile to buy online or at SLS.
Watwheels Supersonic March 3, 2009 Share March 3, 2009 I used to use a pda phone(palm treo) and BT GPS receiver with mapking software. Actually sometimes I still use the combo. Now I have swap to new phone(Omnia) also using mapking using the integrated GPS receiver.
Haurus85 Neutral Newbie March 3, 2009 Share March 3, 2009 im using agisNavi that came integrated with my Omnia..useful in Singapore, but when i went up north, it went abit haywire and the map is not very complete, i got lost in KL because of the numerous flyovers and slip roads..or maybe i'm just lousy..haha

Joajas Neutral Newbie March 3, 2009 Share March 3, 2009 One thing about using phones as GPS, try not to use too much of additional features of the software (e.g. fancy cursors, 3d navigation, highest level of details, etc). Overloading the phone's processor can cause to navigation to go hay wire. Once I set back to default everything goes back to normal. I am using Garmin Mobile XT on Samsung INNOV8 with malfree maps. No major problems so far.

Overloading the phone's processor can cause to navigation to go hay wire. Once I set back to default everything goes back to normal. I am using Garmin Mobile XT on Samsung INNOV8 with malfree maps. No major problems so far. Thats coz the Innov8 has a slow processor and it doesn't have a multimedia chip so the processor gets even more bogged down processing graphics. Getzarian Neutral Newbie March 3, 2009 Share March 3, 2009 Anyone can advise on where to download free GPS software for Window Mobile 6?
Tunge 1st Gear March 3, 2009 Share March 3, 2009 I'm using a QStarz bluetooth GPS together with my win mobile PDA. using Mapking. works pretty fine. Mapking is good because the s'pore maps get updated quaterly. previously i was using free malsingmaps with Garmin Que software. I like garmin interface much better only that it's much more ex than mapking, n i need to run a prog called GPS Proxy in order to use the free maps on Garmin software which makes it quite unstable as i get disconnected often. now that i bought the mapking software, no more disconnections. Tunge 1st Gear March 3, 2009 Share March 3, 2009 waitlonglong.com why wait long long? i know 2 options 1)Mapking 2) GPS Proxy + Garmin Que both free! but not using original maps, instead free maps from Malsingmaps. it not the software/program that cost, it's the maps that cost money. ↡ Advertisement
