Suspension damage?

Guys,

 

I just happened to walk around the car and realised there was some difference between the gap of the rear arches and wheels.

 

Later on i took a measuring tape to measure and indeed both had a difference of about 1-2cm, just wondering if there was any cause for concern? Both front and rear right arches were of the same height except for the rear left which was a bit higher.

 

It's unlikely to be an uneven ground also.

 

Any advise?

mine was never even to begin with it was even previously ? drive for a few more days and monitor, maybe will adjust back ?

 

you feel different ? or any sound ? leak ?

No ride difference, i only saw a visual difference which is why i checked on it. No sound nothing, yeah will monitor over next few days to confirm. Different tyre pressure wouldn't result in height difference i believe.

if its tire pressure that resulted in the 2cm diff. then its very noticeable on your tyres aka one will look pretty flat compared to others.

 

I believe yours is not stock suspension ??

The shock absorbers are stock but springs are not. I wonder is it because the shocks are worn out.

No wonder bro. Stock shocks and lowered springs will result in this. Cos your absorbers are softer than your springs. Last time my car also like that. Unbalanced height.

Ok from my own experience I share. Absorbers need to be harder or at least the same stiffness as your springs. It cannot be the other round cos you will experience 'bottoms up" or ride becomes bouncy or hoppy. You need to get a set of matching absorbers preferbly form the same brand. Btw what is your stiffness of your springs? How many kg front and back? Get coils la, no need to headache.

Brand is ABT, it came with the car so i got no idea how stiff etc it is. I'll go look for Dennis on Monday then.

Rule of thumb for testing suspension is to press the car down with you weight and release, it should not bounce more than once. If more than once, your suspension is kaput. - mechanic at Servo advise me when I notice my rear wheels are closer to the arc than my front wheels, I think either the coils are down but absobers are ok.

 

Anyways I want to change to something stiffer after 110k which is 20k more for me, am already at 90k. Anyways overall driving pattern nowadays is very slow traveling at 80-90km/h on highway, and slow down even more when taking corners.
