Mix engine oil

i have got 2 litres of fully syn carlu6e 5w40 left after my recent oil change. (Engine oil change usually require only 3 litres)

If i'm not able to get back the same oil for my next service, would it matter if i mix in 1 litre of some other brand fully syn engine oi?(30 or 40w depending on which i could get my hands on at that point of time)

preferably not to mix cos different brands have different "extra" stuff added to their engine oils which may cause sludge formation etc etc. besides...its not that expensive that u have to save on 1L of engine oil rite? ;)

yeah, different types of engine oils have different additives

thus, if you mixed these oils, you cannot be certain how it performs.

what if its the same brand but different viscosity? say now is fully syn 5w40, next time i get back same brand same fully syn but of different weight ie 5w30 or 5w50?

If u got 2 litres left over your next servicing u can always go and get 1 litre bottle of fully syn carlu6e 5w40 @ those BIG Hypermarts, Carlu6e do come in 1 litre bottle nowaday even 5w30 also got 1 litre bottle
